We stayed here for a family Thanksgiving weekend trip. The rooms are very nice, and the location is good, although it feels a little bit away from the main downtown. In reality, it's just a couple of blocks from Nicollet Mall and a 10-minute walk to most stores and restaurants.
While we enjoyed our stay, the service was at times great and at times pretty bad. For the amount they're charging and the general branding of the hotel, I'd expect the service to be great or good all of the time.
A couple of the misses:
It was really hard to get a cab, and the staff struggled to get a cab even when they called for one. One staff member directed us to what I believe was the taxi queue for the nearby Hilton a couple of blocks away. I appreciated that he was able to direct us to a cab since we had a dinner reservation that we were trying to make, but it was cold and windy and my mother, who's in her 70s, was with us.
We had issues with our rooms on check-in. We had booked a Superior Suite, but apparently they had some maintenance issues on the floor that houses that room type so there were none available. They downgraded us and lowered the price by about $30/night for the new room type, but the new room was nowhere near what the Suite was supposed to be so the pricing seemed off for what we were getting. I had a very unhelpful exchange with the front desk trying to sort through it but just gave up.
Finally, a pet peeve: they charge for wi-fi access by device so you pay $14/day/device. If you have two people in a room each accessing the wi-fi on a separate device, you'll pay $28/day unless you're in a room type where internet is included. I've seen this at luxury hotels while downscale hotels will many times give you wi-fi for free for all devices, and I don't understand why luxury hotels think it's ok to do this.
So, overall, nice place to stay. The room issue was probably a one-off, but the cab and internet pricing will affect others so just be aware of it when you're making your travel plans.
