“Convenient, spacious, comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

Date of stay: Thu 3/29-Fri 3/30

This was the second time staying at this hotel and plan to stay there again in the future.

Location: right off Nicollet Mall at 11th, across from Target HQ.. very convenient

Room/Suite: 2nd flr; BR separate from "LR" (has a door), split bath (tub & toilet separate from sink/mirror... great if you're traveling with someone else), very quiet, comfortable bed (but terrible pillows). My only complaint was that if you had the drapes open, the window literally looks eye-level at someone's license plate in the parking lot outside. Not very private unless you keep the shades drawn.

Food: Over-priced breakfast buffet ($15).. eggs, mushy shredded potatoes, rubbery pancakes, sausage ... but great service!

As I said, I will be staying here again in the future, but it's more for the convenience/proximity to Target than for the price and space. I stayed in town for the weekend and switched to a cheaper hotel. That said, you get what you pay for, and this was a nicer, more spacious, more modern hotel than the one I switched to for less money.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

I stayed here one year ago, during the completed room/floor renovations. The restaurant/bar area was being redone during this stay. I was pleased to be upgraded to the Honors floor (10th floor) as a Diamond with a rate of $89. The room continues to be nice, sitting areas, bedroom, huge bathroom, 2 large flat panel TV's, outlets and GREAT wifi coverage, etc. I noticed that non-alcohol beverages in the mini-fridge are now free (nice touch). Breakfast was comp'd as elite. A couple minor service blips. Housekeeping was inconsistent (late in the day / seemed quick) and the maintenance solution to a AC/Heater temp setting that ran away one night (woke up to 99 degrees) was to switch off the unit and open the window (really?).

Great staff, great location. Large, beautiful room. Only Downfall was tiny parking area. Hotels.com offered a great rate as well.

This is such a nice location and very beautiful hotel. My only complaint is the lack of free wireless. We stayed on a quiet night between Christmas and New Years and they were very friendly- extra cookies to boot!

I stayed there over New Year's Eve. They were very strict about not having any outside guests or parties in rooms that night , even gave bracelets upon check in to guests and checked on everyone using the elevators that night to make sure there were no room parties. I stayed at a King Suite, very comfortable, separate living room, 2 TVS, decent bathroom. It's 1-2 blocks away from many excellent restaurants and 3 blocks away from Target. They also have a Starbucks inside the hotel which was great. They have a relatively small gym (4 or 5 treadmills) but it was empty. Parking was 18 dollars per day , self-park, and it was not easy to find a spot on New Year's eve. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Lobby had free wifi.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

A smaller, friendly hotel that has been recently upgraded. I was given a good sized corner room with a very functional work area, two flat screen TVs, and a very comfy separate bedroom. Doubletree typically has very comfortable bed and this hotel was no exception. The service staff from maid to front desk to restaurant staff were all professional and friendly. The restaurant food was only so-so, and their staff were responsible for a good chuckle. I had business at the Hilton Minneapolis and understood that it was close to the Doubletree - a primary reason for my selection. I asked three separate restaurant employees if they knew where the Hilton was located. None of them knew where it was located. I proceeded to walk out of the hotel to ask a cab driver for some guidance only to see the Hilton - all 12 stories staring at me less than two blocks away. Oh well, no harm done and, like everyone else in the hotel, they were very friendly.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

Spent four nights here, November 13-16, 2011. Warm cookies and kind desk clerk met us upon arrival. Services were smoothly delivered, professional and, unobtrusive.
Rooms are cozy, well appointed, and clean. No complaints! Housekeeping was couteous and discreet.
Food was sub-par, but staff was very helpful and willing to point you to a restaurant featuring your favorite fare. Bar staff was friendly and prices were fair.
Note: Until the tremperature began falling, the location was perfect. However, as everyone except me must have already known, a two-block walk in Minneapolis can seem like a trek through the frozen Arctic when the wind starts blowing. (My fault for not packing a heavy coat.)
Conclusion: Great location, good facilities and reasonably priced. A good, safe bet, for a week in Minneapolis.
