“Very good stay for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

The staff was awsome from top to bottom. Room and public areas very clean. Great location which was within walking distance to local restaurants/pubs. The only thing they need to work on to give them an excellent rating for me is the breakfast quality and price (not good value/quality for the price.

I have stayed there before but this time they did not honor my company rate. The room was very nice but cost twice as much as normal. Will really look to other hotels in the area that have better pricing next time I am in the area.

John P.,

Thank you for the review. We are appreciative of your kind words. Very sorry that your corporate rate was not available at the time of booking. Most companies only negotiate that rates for standard rooms so be sure to book plenty of time in advance. If you encounter this again, please contact me directly and I would be happy to assist. 952-582-5301. I thank you for staying with us and look forward to having you return!

Best Regards

We stay in Doubletrees a lot, and the quality does vary. This property was very nice, and staff were exceptionally helpful - a personalized welcome note from the manager was in our room when we checked in, a nice touch. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The one problem, which it cost me a night of sleep, was that a seating area in the lobby was located immediately below our second-floor room, and LOUD voices from guests socializing in that area were clearly audible as we tried to sleep, well into the early hours. Because of the building construction, guests may not be aware that their voices would carry up to rooms, but it sounded like they were sitting right outside the door. The staff were very apologetic when I reported this problem the next day - hopefully it can be corrected with a simple sign in that area warning latenight congregants that their voices can be heard in sleeping rooms. If that is fixed, we would unreservedly recommend this hotel; until then, ask for a room on an upper floor, away from common areas.

Room Tip: As noted before - do NOT accept a room directly above the lobby on the second floor unless you are a...

Dear Avatar627,

The Doubletree by Hilton Minneapolis Park Place is very appreciative of your kind words. We love to welcome guests with a welcome note and a warm cookie at check-in. I am sorry that some lobby noise disrupted your sleep. I will take your suggestion regarding the noise issues so others are more aware of their actions.

Thank you again for bringing this to my attention. All the best!

I stayed here only one night on a business trip, but can't think of anything to complain about. My room was nice--a small suite with separate sleeping and sitting/work areas. I had a balcony that overlooked an interior courtyard, but noise was not a problem (I'm pretty noise-sensitive at hotels). The woman who checked in our group (can't remember her name) was excellent. She handled the detailed process with a patient, professional, and very friendly attitude. Even when you stay at a hotel only one night, you remember those kinds of things.

Dear Vickie R,

Very sorry to hear that you did not have a 5 star experience at the Doubletree. A power outage obviously is a hamper to a quiet enjoyable stay, tack on some loud neighbors and that would make it difficult to enjoy yourself. I have shared your comments with my security director as well as my chief engineer to help alleviate these issues in the future. Please consider the Doubletree the next time you are in town.

Warm Regards,

Stayed in hotel for 10 days mid-September, have been staying there at least once per year for 6 years and never written review. But service was so outstanding I had to write this time. Rooms are fine, some more noisy than others but now I know to request away from elevator and pool. They have upgraded wi-fi so even the free version easily supports facetime (which is not normal in most 4* hotels). But the service has been a new focus and it really shows. All the staff are young, pleasant and capable. They were willing to help out in any way possible and were very accomodating about everything, even when I had an issue with laundry. Thanks to the new (to me) team for making my stay so enjoyable and easy!! Having stayed in 4-5* hotels all over the world, the service here is among the best.

Room Tip: Ask for room at far end of hallways away from elevators and pool.

Started out great, very nice surroundings. Sad to say I will never stay near an indoor pool again. So noisy and loud. Kids running like animals down the hall. Had to close heavy drapes as the sheers still allowed kids to look in the room...very disappointing.

That is a great tip for those who want a quiet room away from kids! The Doubletree has a row of suites that are across from the indoor pool. Great for families and those who wish to entertain, but we have many other areas of the hotel that are quiet and away from the pool. Thank you for your comments. I will make sure that reception is making sure we are matching our guests requests to the room given. Thank you and we hope to see you next time!

Sincerely,
