“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

I am in Minneapolis very often and I tried many hotels.
I can say that for a reasonable price both Hyatt and Millenium are very good hotel.
Quiet and very good Breackfast.
Unfortunately I have to book a room at least 3 weeks before to find a place.
So is very difficult.

Anyone rating this a 5 star hotel has clearly never been to a really great hotel. The Millenium is very good, just not 5 stars. The service was great beginning to end. The lobby is great, as is the location right downtown and on the skywalk. There were always cabs waiting outside no matter the time of day which was very convenient. The actual rooms are what keep this from being a 5 star hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side and just OK for furnishings, but the real problem is the HVAC system. Others have commented on it and 2 others in our group had the same problem as me- no matter what you did with the thermostat, the room was always 71 degrees and the rattling fan cycled on and off. This was not good for sleep and clearly not an isolated problem.

Stayed at the Millenium for one night for a wedding. The room was nice, but had a view of the parking garage which wasn't that pretty :) I thought the prices for room service were very reasonable and the bar looked great - though I didn't get to experience either for lack of time. There were plenty of cabs outside the hotel which would be nice for transport.

Biggest praise is the staff. I had the BEST customer service. I forgot my curling iron so called down to see if they had one. They did not, but offered to send a staff member to target to purchase for me. I was so happy and incredibly pleased with their help! What a wonderful treat.

Melinda1966,
Great to know that you had a comfortable last night in the US at our beautiful hotel. We recently completed a very extensive renovation and that is when we added the fridges and the Sundry Shop. Both have been a great success with our guests.

Having the convenience of not having to leave the hotel for quick food or sundry items is great. Especially during a Minnesota winter!!

Hope that if your travel plans bring you back to the Midwest, you will keep us in mind as your hotel choice.

Regards,

Only had a 1 night stay here for my last night in America, nice friendly desk staff, room was great, the bed very comfy. Very reasonable rate also. This was the only hotel I stayed in that actually had a mini fridge which is great for keeping your drinks nice and cold. They also have a grab and go which is great saves you having to find a 7-11 for drinks or snacks when you need them.

Staff were so helpful as we gathered our family for a wedding in downtown Mpls, and reception on the top floor of Millennium. Splendid place for reception! Staff were helpful with arranging/adjusting rooms. More than anything, I appreciate how Anita, desk staff person, went out of her way to assist a dear older family friend with transportation to her destination a few blocks away, so she wouldn't need to walk or maneuver a taxi. Such friendly and helpful staff. Thank you!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis. Bed was comfortable, hotel recently remodeled. Great location downtown. Walking distance to most everything. Free bus is right out the front door. Staff was very accommodating. Loved the happy hour in the lounge. Would recommend.

We stayed in this hotel for the Minneapolis Marathon. We will not stay here again. We were put in a handicap room, which we aren't. Not necessarily a problem other than we could never get our room warmer than 67 degrees, even when we set the thermostat to 80. So, we asked for a room change. Again, the room never warmed up past 67. We put in a service call for a maintenance worker. He came immediately, checked everything out. Said we had it set such that it should warm up. The temperature never changed. The door to the bathroom was a barn style door. While some may consider it stylish, we considered it dangerous. It's very heavy and sways, which can lead to badly pinched fingers. The lobby/restaurant/lounge was also very chilly. People sitting in the lounge have their coats on. The decor was not welcoming. We dealt with three different parking ramp attendents. Two of the three seemed to know what they were doing. The third one was very rude. The upside is, it is conveniently located and the staff was friendly and attempted to be helpful. There was an incident one night in the room next to us that required a staff security officer. While we weren't involved, it appeared to have been handled very quickly & firmly. My recommendation, and what we will do next trip, is to stay across the street iat the Hyatt. Same great location with a great bar/restaurant/rooms.

Room Tip: Stay across the street in the Hyatt.

Bonnie,
I am so sorry that you did not have an enjoyable stay with us. The weekend of the marathon was unusually cold for the beginning of October here. Our hotel had not switched from cooling to heat and unfortunately, that is why the room was not able to reach a higher temperature.
All I can do is apologize for this.

I would love to have the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please feel free to contact me directly at the hotel.
