We took our 5 year old to see a play adapted from a children's book (The Biggest Little House in the Forest) at the Children's Theatre Co., and she absolutely loved it! The puppet show was a one woman act on the (smaller) Cargill Stage, and especially geared toward pre-school aged children. There were also some older school aged kids in attendance and everyone, including adults, had a fun time. The play had some interactive parts - like blowing bubbles for the kids to pop, and at the end the children were able to "meet" the characters (touch the puppets). The show was just under an hour, which was especially good for the smaller kids, who may not be used to sitting still for so long. The seating area for the kids were also smaller, which was especially nice. We enjoyed it so much, we are getting a subscription membership. What's also nice is the theater is next door to the Minnesota Institute of Arts. This is definitely a great way to spend a couple of hours with your kids!
