“Enjoyable Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2010

Convenient downtown location. A couple of blocks off the light rail (6-7 minutes). Sleep number beds in the room are a nice touch if you have never experienced one. Very comfortable room and an attentive, helpful staff. Free Wi-Fi and laptop hook up in room. Apples and USA Today paper free in the lobby. Only negative, room had no view, we were on the 7th floor. Did not use the exercise room or sauna / hot tub. Cost for rental cars and parking at downtown hotels was high so we did not rent a car but took the light rail in from the airport for $2.25 and 25 minutes was not bad at all, very clean and safe. Target Field (5 min), Metrodome (5 Min) and Mall of America (30 min) all on the light rail route and buses connect off of different stops so really didn't need a rental car. Nicollet Mall, Game Works, Applebee's, Hard Rock, a theater and Shout Piano Bar just down the street and a 2 story Target around the corner. There are 2nd story skywalks to get from building to building and you can almost avoid going outside to avoid any winter weather if you prefer.

We stayed at the Radisson Plaza this weekend. We liked the cleanliness of the hotel and the great service we received. Good location, walking distance from NIcollet Mall and great restaurant.

Our vacation in the twin citie was late after an accident on the Interstate, so we arrived later than our checkin time at 3PM, we arived at 8. So naturally our plans changed, we had no idea what there was to do in the Twin City! When we arrived at the hotel the bell boy greeted us and was very polite and accomidating. Upon us checking in, he than recommended things to do at such a late hour in the city, he recommended a good movie he saw the other day, and some good bars. We went to both!
Absolutly amazing hotel. No complaints about it! It may be a little pricy as we stayed for a week, but we definatly got what we paid for!
The rooms are clean, the hotel staff are VERY accomodating, and on our last day we ate breakfast at the Fire Lake Restraunt, it was deliscious. The food was great and speedy!

Convinience of having the downtown all in walking distance, and the train nearby!

Firstly I have stopped in many hotels and as a pure hotel experience, this was one of the best.

The hotel itself is located in a prime location, with good skywalk connections.

The decor is nice and the rooms are very good (not the best ever, but not problems). Also love the remote controlled mattress strength. Very good.

The staff are also curteous and very competent.

Finally the restaurant is amazing. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner the food is very, very good. Also the bar was nice.

Eat once at the Marriott and the food should not be called food it was that disgusting (the sausages tasted like rubber). So it was great to see a hotel with great food.

All in all a very good experience.

First of all, we got the room free from a previous stay where they said our room wasn't cleaned to Radisson standards. Must have been a busy weekend to stay beings they didn't take time to make our room to their liking. So, you would think the second time around they would be up to par on cleanliness. ?.? When we got to the room i opened the window drapes and there was an empty ketchup bottle that was open and ketchup all over the floor. I realize things get missed so I let it pass and called to make sure I didn't get charged for the cleaning. They had a maid come up promply to take care of this matter. But what really got me was getting ready for bed and looking at the pillow shams and noticing tons of hair. Shams on both beds!!! Needless to say, I stripped the bed and slept with my own blanket and pillow I thank god I packed!
There was people in the room next to us that stayed up until 2:30am. They weren't partying by any means so I didn't want to call the front desk with a complaint but the walls were so thin you could almost hear every word they were saying.
Last, bring your own beverages. Both of the soda vending machines at money both trips I was there. Had to go to restaurant to get a refund so just an F.Y.I for if you are stuck downtown and don't have anywhere to go for a late night soda.

I rarely take the time to write up a review for either a hotel or it's event staff -- but the Raddison was such a unique experience, I would be remiss not to comment.

While the negotiations were agressive and could have produced a "chilly" reception, the fact is I, and our entire team, was met with extreme courtesy, efficiency and the legendary mid-western friendliness.

As an event planner, I cannot understate the value of having someone from the hotel available at all times to assist with last minute details like F&B, temperature, audio/video, etc. No matter the request/change, someone was on it within minutes.
Without exception -- seriously, without exception -- everyone connected with our conference and general stay was knowlegeable, responsive and friendly. Unheard of!

And, best of all, the physical hotel met the standards set by the staff. Well appointed, comfy, clean rooms, terrific restaurant/bar, very convenient location.

To my fellow event planners, book this hotel. Least stressful conference I've had in years!

Check in was a breeze and made me feel welcome. The hotel is clean, the restaurant is very good and the rooms were very roomy, fresh and comfortable. I did not use covered parking. I am sure in the summer this hotel is a hit, it has a water park in there. Close to shopping and gym is very complete. Overall great value. Not luxurious, but very good!
