“Good business hotel, centrally located, very good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Would ideally like to give this place 3.5 stars - above average and good.

Good business hotel - wifi throughout hotel which works seamlessly.

Well located - right near the shopping street - so if you were going for shopping this is an ideal location.

Differentiator here is the service - staff is very helpful and goes above and beyond to make the stay pleasant.

The restaurant is the lobby is surprisingly good - food is well made - wholesome comfort food. Dessert selection is good as well. Wine selection is sub bar - would go with beer than wine.

Room Tip: Rooms on the club floor best I was upgraded to a suite which was quite nice

Another stay at this simply lovely hotel. We've looked at others in the downtown area and none measure up to the quality and location of the Radisson Plaza. Nicely decorated, up to date clean quiet rooms, good quality beds with fresh stylelish linens, free wireless internet. Hallways and lobby are impeccable. The location is really great for us with Macys right next door and wonderful restaurants like Manny's and Ruth Chris within walkng distance not to mention the other shops and stores in the immediate area. Staff, are always friendly, polite and quick to offer assistance where and when they can. Love it, recommend it and we'll be back... again and again!!

The room has new furniture. Although a bit small but had a good feeling in the room. What I was not happy about was there was no sun light entering the room. The window and the view from the room was to the inner atrium

I was here to watch twins/yankees baseball series. The hotel was perfectly located for us. No need to rent a car. Took the light rail right from airport to hotel (short 2 block walk from rail). Nice easy walk to ball park. Tons of restaurants and attractions within walking distance of hotel. The restaurant/bar in hotel lobby is fabulous. Bartenders are quite friendly and make super drinks. The fitness center on the 17th floor is adequate (although a larger supply of fresh towels is needed).

The hotel itself is okay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, albeit the only room available when we checked in was a handicapp accessible double room (we requested a king). And the rate, I think, was a bit high. It's an okay place to stay, if you can get decent rate. At rack rates, it isn't a good value.

I'll start by saying that we got a really great rate at this hotel--so I really can't complain too much. Had we paid rack rate, I would not have been happy with this place. Some of the irritations were:
* No pool. We knew this going in, as no pool was advertised on their website. Since the other hotels in the same area do have pools, this is a miss at this hotel.
* Scary location. Literally every night we stayed at this hotel, we could see drug deals happening on the street below us. We saw multiple drunk young men urinating in the public parking garage. We also saw three people get arrested just looking out the window of our room. We encountered many, many drunk people asking for money, were accosted by groups of college-aged men in the evening, and did not feel safe walking around at any time of day. This isn't the hotel's fault, of course; it's just something to note if you're thinking of staying here.
* Parking is atrocious. This is expected in a larger city anyway, but this particular hotel says they have a private, secure parking garage for guests. This is great, except they'll charge you an arm and a leg to park there overnight, and the secure garage will be full all weekend anyway because there are not enough spots for all guests. This was really disappointing, as it was part of the reason we booked at this hotel. We ended up parking for a slightly lower price (not by much!) in a public parking garage down the street for most of our trip.

That said, the staff was friendly and helpful, and there seemed to be a fair amount of security/police protection around the hotel. The room was comfortable, though a bit outdated, and it was quiet in our room. You'll want to close the curtains in your room, though... we could see straight in to a room at the hotel across the street, and I imagine they could see us, too!

Great location in downtown Minneapolis; near to the light rail, bus tour of the twin cities leaves from just across the street. Short walk to Target Field. I was relying on public transport and walking to get around and found the hotel to be ideally placed to get around the city. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi in the rooms, newspaper at your door every day, big tv in the room. Staff were helpful; were able to suggest a comedy club and give directions on how to get there. Would recommend it and would stay there again myself.

I stayed here for four nights at a conference and the experience was uniformly positive: the room was spacious and very clean, as was the bathroom; the room-service food was surprisingly excellent; the downtown location is ideal; and the wifi was included with the room -- a nice bonus available at surprisingly few hotels. I'd definitely stay again.
