“They know how to treat their guests!”

Radisson University Hotel

This hotel was excellent in every respect during our visit. When we arrived they had us booked into a junior suite (what we had asked for!), but the room did not have a kind-sized bed. We asked if there was anything we could do. The clerk checked the system, and noted that a much larger suite (with a king size bed) was not booked for the rest of the week. Since it was empty, he bumped us up to it.

I certainly don't expect to get free stuff at a hotel. I just want it to treat me fairly and give me what they promise. But if they have a room free and it gives the customer what they want, why not? I think it shows an attitude toward the guest that is good.

The rooms were lovely in arrangement, very clean, and well attended. My wife and I keep strange hours sometimes, but they were able to come in an clean up when we weren't there. (Sometimes other hotels have simply skipped our room or insisted on cleaning while we were there.) Free internet was provided. There was some sort of breakfast, but we did not make use of it during our stay, so I can't evaluate it.

I can whole-heartedly recommend the Presidential Suite, although I certainly don't expect to get to stay in one again as I can't afford it. (For the record, it had a bedroom with full bathroom, desk, TV, and video game; a room with whirlpool tub, sink, chair, and sitting area; a sitting room with a couch, chairs and big screen TV; a dining area with large table and six chairs as well as a wet bar; a half-bathroom in the entry; and an outer door with doorbell. There were closets in the entry, whirlpool tub room, and bedroom. All in all better than my home!)

In the building, in addition to conference rooms, there was a Starbucks coffee and an Applebee's. The hotel is on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Throughout our stay, the staff was friendly and always tried to make our stay better.

All in all it was a great stay. We will stay there again when visiting the university!

We stayed here for two nights last week. It was in a decent location -- right on the campus of the east bank of the Uni. Our room was a nice size -- a non-smoking king -- and it was relatively quiet. My only issues were our room seemed a little out of date, esp. the bathroom, and the tub didn't drain very well. Other than that, it was nice.

The directions Google gave us to get to the hotel were a little confusing, but it wasn't difficult to find once we got on the right track. There's a Starbucks and an Applebees "connected" to the hotel, and there were plenty of places to eat on the blocks surrounding the hotel (Brugger's Bagels, Chipotle, Dairy Queen, Ben & Jerry's).

We didn't eat at the lounge in the hotel, or use the gym facilities. I did notice that, while hotel guests apparently had access to the uni facilities, there was also a small room w/ a few treadmills in it.

This hotel is conveniently located on the University of Minnesota campus. We did not rent a car, but rather, took the light rail from the airport and then, transferred to Route 16 bus. It was very easy to transfer, and we paid 1. 25 per person as compared to $30 for a cab ride.

Our room was very clean, had great wi-fi connection, and all of the expected amenities. Restaurant choices on the property include the University Lounge, Applebees and Starbucks. There are several other restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel staff will also provide menus for near-by restaurants who offer free room service delivery.

Two minor complaints...it was difficult to regulate the temperature in the room and there is no pool on the property. Apparently, hotel guests can use the facilities at the University of Minnesota.

We would recommend the Radisson University for travelers.

“Great location for the University”

Perfectly located for the Uni campus, but also convenient for downtown, although this would involve a short stroll across the river. Convenient public transport almost in front of the hotel (you can use the rail ticket as a bus transit if coming from the airport). A choice of restaurants in the neighbourhood, also "village shops" within easy walk - this is a campus area.

My room was quiet and decently spacious. Despite the jetlag, I found the bed to be comfortable (or was I just tired enough). Nice set of toiletries in the bathroom, complimentary tee+coffee and a bottle of water on the welcome day. The breakfasts were on the good side and the staff nice and rather friendly. Free wifi in the room (good quality signal).

On the downside, the aircon/heating was unmanageable (and noisy), and the TV reception poor (and limited channels).

Would stay again.

“A Great Hotel!!! Will Stay Here Again!!”

Radisson University Hotel

We stayed at this hotel during a trip to Minneapolis. Everything about this hotel was great. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great. It is right on the campus of the University of Minnesota and it is easy to get from the hotel to downtown, the Mall of America, the airport, and any other Minnesota hot-spot. Parking is very convenient with a surface lot right behind the hotel with plenty of spaces. Parking is around $10 per day, which I felt was very reasonable for a big city. The hotel itself is priced very reasonably at around $100 or so per night.

Overall, f you are going to Minneapolis and want a great hotel that is close to everything, you can't go wrong with the Radisson. The only potential downside is that it might be hard to stay here if you won't be renting a car or having a car during your stay as public transportation (light rail) doesn't seem to be too close, though I can't say for certain. But, you can easily take a cab from the airport to the hotel if your business is at the University.

I'll be looking at staying at Radisson Hotels in the future because of my positive experience at this property.
