“Stylish and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

My boss, co-workers, and I stayed at the Hyatt while attending a conference in Minneapolis. The decor caught my eye right away. Using dark hues of greys and browns with occasional pops of white and beige, the decor set a tone of modern sophistication. The fireplace, two stories high, was impressive and made the lobby feel warm (more figuratively than literally) and inviting. The lobby had many tables and sitting areas. There was a restaurant and great options for breakfast (only meal we ate there). Found prices a little high for quantity of food. When we checked in, there was some confusion with the reservations, but staff was courteous and helpful! Rooms were tastefully decorated. (I personally enjoy dark colors). The rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. There is a cafe with reasonably priced food items (very convenient). The location of the hotel is great. There are great places to eat in the area. I believe it's in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. Every night, we went somewhere different to eat. There were diverse options. The only con I can share is that there were no power outlets in the lobby. I had to make sure that my laptop was charged before I headed down to do work. Wi-fi was not available in my boss's room.

Thank you for the thoughtful review regarding our renovation. We are happy with the design and the use of local products and materials. There are some charging stations off the lobby by the escalator so hopefully you were able to see those. Thank you again for the feedback and we hope your travels bring you back to the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.

The Hyatt Regency is a great hotel to stay at in Minneapolis. It is in an area that seems to have a very vibrant food scene and it was great to be able to just wander in the evenings and try different restaurants in the area.

The hotel itself has recently been refurbished and has a Scandinavian feel. The restaurant in the hotel has great food and there is also a "Market" just off the lobby that serves great food to go and serves Starbucks coffee.

My room was superb and had a living room as well as a bedroom. The staff is super friendly and helpful, though given the size of the hotel they are constantly busy.

The one down side to this hotel is the layout of the corridors, I kid you not it is very hard to find your room with all the twists and turns of the corridors. However you soon overcome this after the first or maybe in my case second day.

The hotel seems to host a lot of conventions and business meetings and depending on what function they have on can feel very crowded in the lobby area with hundreds of people hanging around.

Your comments regarding the City and the hotel are excellent! I love the Market also and the amount of restaurants in our immediate vicinty is extraordinary. In our new wing (where you were staying), we are adding some directionals as it is a little confusing at first. I'm glad you appreciated the renovation, we are thrilled! I'm very proud of the 'friendly' team here and we look forward to your return stay!

Although I know that this is standard practice (and I have commented on this in earlier reviews), it is always very disappointing to me if a high quality hotel charges extra to use WIFI in the room. To me this is a commodity which should be included in the price. However, besides from this issue the hotel has everything what you might expect from a hotel like this. The rooms are quiet and very clean and have comfortable beds. The view on the downtown area from our room on the 8th floor was nice. The pool, gym and basketball court are great. The lobby looks stylish but a bit too cold and modern for my taste. The hotel was located at a convenient 5 minute walk from the convention center (possibly using the skywalk).

My husband and I decided at the last minute to stay in Minneapolis after a Jack Johnson concert at the BEAUTIFUL State Theater and we used Priceline.com to save on research time. We wanted easy parking and we wanted to be walking distance. This is what we got and we were very pleased. The staff was not only professional but also really nice!!! The room was very clean and spacious and the bathroom was as well! We had a lovely view of a park like path and easy access to everything we wanted to do on our short stay. We lucked out, for sure!

Room Tip: We were on the third floor in a room with a king size bed overlooking a patio and a pretty walking p...

Jack Johnson is a personal favorite and a great show! You can often hear his music in our lobby. Thank you for the feedback regarding the team, I have shared your comments with all. The view of the Loring Greenway is amazing, especially in Fall. Minneapolis has a fantastic music scene so come back and see us when attending your next concert!

Thank you for the comments! That piece of art is meant to represent Ingrid Bergman and utilizes 3M type materials to celebrate our history. Sorry that it didn't appeal to you. Hope to see you back soon!

We stayed here for a conference. It was very comfortable. Helpful staff and the location close to the baseball stadium was quiet and easy to get to. Room had 2 double beds but only one sink. There was no mirror in the bedroom, only in the bathroom which made two people getting ready a little difficult. Otherwise very enjoyable.

Room Tip: High, in a corner away from the elevator.

overall a great hotel. clean rooms, comfortable beds, convenient restaurant in lobby and 8 minute skywalk to the convention center. room and street noise were minimal. the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very cool. fast elevators too.

biggest complaint is that wifi is very expensive, limited and very SLOW. if there is a convention or 2 going on you will get dropped constantly during peak evening hours. so trying to work at night was impossible. coffee and water were very expensive in the little market in the lobby. Target is a block or 2 from the hotel if you need water or misc items. they do have a list of toiletry or vanity items you can borrow or purchase which could be convenient if you didn't want to get out of hotel.

great place too stay if you have a convention to attend but not a place to get away.
