“Quality. Convenience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

I was pleasantly surprised by my 3 night stay at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis while attending a business conference. First, I was given a beautiful and spacious room on the 22nd floor with a view to the south. Room service was lightning fast as was the internet connection in the room. The fitness facility earns top marks and the staff were extremely accommodating. Perfect location on the downtown mall and just a short walk or free bus ride to the light rail line headed to the airport and Mall of America. I would definitely return!

Thank you for the great review! We are thrilled with how the renovation turned out and glad you appreciated it! The Room Service team will be delighted with your comments and the fitness center is a personal favorite! I hope you got to try the Market for your grab and go items. We look forward to your next visit!

Stayed here over the weekend. A perfect location right on Nicollet Avenue. We ended up on the 20th floor with a great view of downtown Minneapolis.
Anytime we wanted to leave the hotel there were numerous cabs parked right outside.
There's a "market" inside the hotel with sandwiches, drinks, etc. we didn't use this but thought it was a nice touch to be given an alternative at a hotel besides just vending machines.
Rooms were very nice. My favorite was the bathroom. It was huge. Great shower.
My only complaint for the weekend was that it was bitter cold....not something the hotel could fix.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better your view will be

Thank you so much for the review! We are so glad you had a great experience despite the cold weather. It certainly was a little chilly! The Market is a personal favorite, I love the breakfast sandwiches as well as the veggie wrap. For a treat, I also like the Izzy's ice cream. We look forward to your return visit!

The rooms were spacious and clean. I was not impressed with the restaurant, though. The hotel is about 10 minutes walking distance from the convention center. You can catch the bus in front of the hotel, ride about 9 blocks to catch the train, and then ride the train for approximately 45 minutes to get to the mall of America. Since that took a lot of time, we set up a car from the hotel to drive our teenage daughter and friend to and from the mall. That worked out great, and it was cheaper than using a taxi!

My husband and I recently stayed here. It was the Saturday where the Packers played the Vikings.

When we checked in the receptionist showed no enthusiasm. I don't think she cared if we were staying there or at Holiday Inn, for her it was just a job. She avoided eye contact and seemed apathetic.

We checked into our room. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, the bathroom was clean, the shower had good pressure - no complaints about the room.

Then we went to the bar. I think Hyatt must have paid a lot for the interior decoration of this bar. It looked nice, but the lighting was too bright and it wasn't inviting. We sat down to watch the game and once again we were confronted by staff who avoided eye contact and seemed not to care whether we stayed or moved onto the next bar. In order to get served, I finally got up and approached the server myself.

Since it didn't seem to matter whether we stayed or went we decided we wanted to support a different bar. Plus we just wanted service and this was difficult in spite of the fact that the waitstaff didn't seem all that busy.

The following morning when the valet got our car, we did meet an employee who cared. He was very helpful and interested in us.

I have had my share of undesirable jobs in my life! But a lot of it is what you make it by communicating with clients or taking an interest in your own surroundings.

If you want a nice place to sleep and nothing more, you can stay here. But don't a lot of hotels offer this and they have friendly service?

It had been nearly a year since we stayed here and were pleasantly surprised to see the new restoration of the hotel. The lobby/reception area is open and beautifully designed. There is a big fireplace and many casual areas to relax. The rooms have luxury bedding and all new decor. The bathrooms have been redesigned to be very functional with lots of counter space and a nice night light. The restaurant has great food from local sources. We had a nice meal there before going to an 8pm show. With its downtown location this is a great hotel for a romantic get away to Minneapolis.

Room Tip: High room with a city view

We were fortunate to get a room on the 15th floor that overlooked the Mall. A gorgeous view at night! The recently renovated hotel was very nice. The rooms are quite spacious. The bathrooms are large and well laid out (great water pressure!). The bed was extremely comfortable. We did have trouble with our heat, but the problem was quickly resolved by the engineering staff. The parking in the parking ramp is an expense, but necessary for having a downtown hotel. The room was dusty around the edges of the carpet and in the closet, otherwise it was very clean. The skyway system makes many places accessible without going outside in the winter, although you do need to walk further than if you walked outside.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor room with a view of the Mall.
