Stayed in a great end room with fabulous view of downtown. Room was large, clean, and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable in which I've slept, and I appreciated the extra pillows I had requested. Great location! Would definitely return to this hotel.

Nice property just be aware that parking is a mindboggling $17/day and that the hotel is not located downtown. They should change the name as it's very misleading. The rooms are a nice size and The Corner Bar across the street offers very cold beer.

Room Tip: Expensive parking. Not downtown.

I stayed at this hotel just recently and I thought it was good! It seemed recently renovated and the lobby/restaurant area was very modern and really nice!
It looked like it was busy because there was even a line to get into the elevator... The hotel in general was good, my only problem is that the rooms were sooooo small!! I was on the 10th floor and I had a corner room (usually these are larger) and it was sooo small, I barely had room to move around! Thank god I was there for just one night, because I fell claustrophobic with such a tiny space! Other than that, everything else was ok. They have USB rechargeable outlets by the tv, but the ones in my room didn't work. Overall, the hotel was good, great location!

Myself, my girlfriend and 2 other friends stayed here last weekend. We were in town to watch the Patriots beat the Vikings. We arrived on the Friday and was impressed that there were 3 different pubs right next to the hotel to hang out and grab drinks at. In total there are about 6 places to eat within steps of the front door of the hotel.

The hotel itself was nicely appointed and the staff were very friendly except for one gentleman at 1 in the morning. Could barely get his attention. We ate breakfast at the hotel on the last day and were very impressed by the friendly staff there. Made us wish we ate more often in the lounge. We were a bit disappointed that there was no hot tub in the hotel. There seems to be a space for it though. The room itself was very clean and just spacious enough for us. 4 people is a bit tight but it worked with the 2 queen beds. The ladies wished there was a better mirror and lighting for make up but not a huge detail.

The hotel is a very short walk to everything! We hit a different pub each night for a drink and food and just to hang out. I'll review those separately. But it was a short walk to the transit system which can take you to the Gopher stadium, downtown, airport and Mall of America. Getting on the train for the Vikings game was difficult and us 2 guys ended up going back to the hotel for a cab which wasn't hard to get. After the game, the weather was nice enough that we actually walked the 30 minutes back to the hotel which was quicker than transit. We took the transit to the mall of America which took about 30 minutes but was very easy. We even saved a ton of money by taking transit to the aiport instead of a cab. I do wish there was a shuttle to and from the airport though as the airport is not close.

For anyone visiting the university, this hotel is 1 block away which is very convenient!

Room Tip: Try to get a room higher than level 5 for better views.

My family stayed here for one night the night before I moved in at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. It is located just west of the West Bank part of the UMN campus. It is very close to I-35W and I-94 so it's easy to get to. There are a lot of restaurants within a three minute walk. My family chose to eat at Republic, which served classic pub fare, and was across the street from the entrance to the hotel. Guests have to pay $15 for parking in the garage adjacent to the hotel, but it's a discounted rate from what non-guests pay to park overnight. It is a slight annoyance getting from the car to your room as you have to take the elevator or stairs down to street level, walk outside, then walk in the front entrance of the hotel and go up to your room. It's not that bad though.
If you are visiting the UMN campus for any reason, the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown is conveniently located. The Commons Hotel is right on campus, but you would pay significantly more than you would if you were to stay at the Courtyard. Other than the proximity to the heart of the UMN campus, there is really no reason to spend the extra money to stay at The Commons. The West Bank METRO Green Line stop is very close to the Courtyard, so you don't even have to worry about walking all the way to the East Bank. Even if you aren't visiting campus, you can easily get to the rest of the city using the METRO Light Rail system.
The hotel offers amazing views of downtown Minneapolis to the west. If you're visiting the UMN campus, there really is no reason to stay anywhere else.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Target HQ's in Minneapolis - and I was pleased that I chose this hotel.

While not a 5 star hotel, I love that I know that the Courtyard will always provide courteous employees, spacious rooms, and great amenities (especially the Bistro).

If you are visiting Target HQ's, know that you are not really walking distance (especially since it was raining when I was there). But - the neighborhood around this Courtyard has very nice restaurants and even theaters.

I would stay in this hotel again - I doubt you would be disappointed if you spend some time here during your business travels!!

Recently stayed at the hotel while doing some college touring with my daughter. This was a great location and the hotel was clean with extremely friendly staff. Would staff again and for sure recommend to others.
