I recently stayed here for a conference and was able to upgrade to a suite room for the same price as my standard. The room was massive! The layout was a bit odd, as they did not seem to know what to do with the TV placement, but it was clean, relaxing and had enough space for my team to have small meetings.

I did not have a chance to use the fitness amenities but the front desk staff was very friendly and there's complimentary cider and snacks in the afternoons. The convention staff was also very friendly and professional!

The one negative: The elevators were unable to accommodate large fluctuations in guests, with 15-20 minute wait for an elevator AND the stairs were all configured so that you could not use them to get from floor to floor (only to the outside of the building) which is both frustrating and environmentally unfriendly... The first few floors - up to floor 6 - that all have amenities/convention rooms should have stairway access (other than the 1st and 2nd floor escalator)

Dear Lillyfred,
Thank you for the nice review on Tripadvisor. It sounds like you enjoyed your stay other than the wait for the elevators. Just to let you know we do have a set of stairs in the middle of the hotel that access each floor and an additional set of elevators in the second atrium. Most of our guests opt not to use the other elevators. I hope to see you on your next visit to Minneapolis.

Best Regards

My wife & I had a great stay! The hotel has been remodeled extremely well! Check in was smooth & was even offered a tour of the amenities, nice touch! We didn't use the pool or weight room. The room was great, a whole living area with separate room with our bed. Bathrooms were very nice, newly remodeled, & it was very clean. They had a fun bar in the lobby, & the free hot breakfast is quality! The only complaint I had was about the Starbucks cafe part of the bar. If your going to have this, you need to have trained baristas to make drinks.....we were not even able to drink what was made, it was awful. Also, provide free coffee for guests beyond breakfast hours. Other than that, great stay!

Dear Gremiliam,

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on Tripadvisor. I am glad that overall it sounds like you had a great stay at our property. The Hyatt Place brand does not offer 24hr coffee. As you mentioned, our coffee counter does provide a unique product especially if you order just plain coffee. It is an Americano which is an espresso shot and hot water. We are always happy to remake a product or refund our guests if they do not care for the taste. I hope you will keep us in mind during your next trip to downtown Minneapolis.

Best Regards,

This property looks to have been recently converted from an office or other use and they did a great job. Rooms are large suites and are well equipped and very clean. Nice, but small pool, and a very good free breakfast.

Property is on the edge of downtown about a 3 block walk from the more active areas but is connected to the interior sky way so you can get around without going outside, Parking at the hotel is reasonable but there is also street parking available,

Was very impressed with the size of the rooms! The bathroom shower was updated with a glass shower door and towel racks inside the shower. This was very convenient so you don't have to get out of a hot shower into a cold! Also, liked the little corner step to shave your legs! I want one now in my house! Bed was comfortable pillows just ok. The price was what will always keep me coming back to book with the Hyatt Place! I think I only paid $99.00! It was convenient to take the light rail from the airport for only $2.25 to this hotel. The stop was only a couple of blocks away. Breakfast was included in the cost and it was adequate. They had a large groups of kids in the hotel and even with how loud they were I didn't hear them at night when I sleeping. Which was a huge plus! And another plus..... they had FREE wifi!

First time staying in downtown Minneapolis. This was a nice hotel with decent rooms. Hotel staff friendly. Free breakfast was great and well stocked. Food in restaurant was a handy option but average at best.

The one HUGE problem that we had was the ability to control the room temperature. . We couldn't! There was no ability to cool the room down. The room temperature was 80 degrees at one point. There isn't suppose to be a sauna in our room. Others that we travelled with had the same problem. When we complained to staff they said there was noting they could do. Sad.

Dear The Real Pods,
Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to write a review on TripAdvisor. I am sorry that we did not live up to your expectations during your stay. During the really cold months we only have heat available in the rooms as it provides fast and typically a more comfortable stay for our guests. During climate changes, the building changes from one form of heat to another allowing AC to the rooms. Normally the process is not noticed, but when it gets warmer outside in the cold winter months, the system cannot switch back and forth very quickly. I do hope you will give us another try in the future.

I was very impressed by this location. My wife and I live in the Twin Cities and planned a weekend staycation. Being we live in the area we know this particular property has changed names a number of times. The people that did the work on this place did a great job. The atrium and lobby are very modern and nice looking. The rooms are huge. Breakfast was great both mornings and they also had some really good happy hour specials. This property is located on the east end of Downtown Minneapolis near the new Vikings stadium. It is connected to the Skyway so you can walk to Hennepin Avenue and the Convention Center without ever going outside. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to family and friends.
