Lovely decor! Friendly service as ever for the USA. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Cookies and milk at 10pm............. what more could you ask for?
We had a room that opened out overlooking a pool. Normandy theme throughout the hotel. A very pleasant stay was had.

I booked the Normandy based on the proximity to the Metrodome. When we pulled up I realized they never showed a full photo of the building, which is aging. I have to admit I would have judged a book by it's cover and not booked if I'd seen exterior photos. I'm glad I didn't make that error in judgement as our stay turned out great.

The room was comfortable and clean. I didn't use the pool but the exercise room was on par with any 4 or 5 star hotel.

The big hit was the cookies and milk at 10pm. I'd heard about it but it was quite a phenonenom. There's a room off the lobby where they put out the trays of cookies and pitchers of milk. Within 5 minutes there would be 20+ people coming in for cookies.

Would definitely stay here again as it was a good hotel and an easy walk to the stadium.

This Inn has been in the same family since 1941 and has always been well managed. Mike Noble the current president is a hands on innkeeper who hires the right kind of people to keep up the fine tradition of this Inn. He has brought back the Normandy Kitchen brand which was popular in the 50's and the restaurant has great food and service. The breakfasts are especially tasty!

And to top it all off, at 10pm every night, complimentary hot chocolate chip cookies and cold milk are served in the parlor to make your evening complete.

This hotel was a total delight. Parking is only $7.00 a day, which for a big city is a real bargain. And part of the parking is under cover. The hotel is older, but has a charming appeal with exposed beams and a cozy sitting area in the lobby. I had a suite on the second floor, it was very clean and very comfortable, with a good view of the city. The bed provided me with the best sleep I have had in a long time. The bathroom was immaculate, and had a glass walk in shower. The room was very quiet, as was most of the hotel.
The pool area was beautiful, clean and decorated nicely, but water was a tad chilly.
Despite reading some negative reviews about the employees, I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The front desk folks were very helpful in directing me to some attractions and some restaurants in the city providing maps and prices.
One warning, the restaurant and bar is very nice, but prices are a bit high. However compared to some of the other restaurants in downtown Minneapolis they were actually not too overpriced.
Milk and cookies at night were a fun treat! I would definately stay here again!

It's not the first time my friends and I have stayed here, not the last either. We are always more than satisfied with the service and accommodations. We primarily go to Minneapolis for shopping, but enjoy the LGBT nightlife as well. The Normandy is a very easy walk to both.

Though we are able to find lower rates on fancier hotels on hotwire, we prefer the poolside accommodations here.

We, the Swedish tour operator Christer´s Resor (Christer´s Tours), have used Normandy Inn many years for our groups. We have had groups in Minneapolis for many years since 1994 for Swedish Heritage tours and tried many hotels. Since we "found" Normandy Inn we always stay here. We, and our guests on every tour, have been very satisfied with the friendly staff, the clean and spacey rooms, the central location, the big indoor pool area and the restaurant.
Best regards
Christer Kullberg

The staff were all very friendly and very helpful with the shuttle taking us to the Twins game, and marking a map for us when asking about other directions. Also very handy to everything downtown. The room was clean, comfortable, and plenty of space, and the rate very good. (Plus the cheap $7 parking for the day/night and free internet.) Warm cookies and milk an added plus after a long day of traveling!
