I booked a king room in Nov, at check-in, the man working the front desk said he did not have a king room available, so I would have to have a queen room. I booked a reservation to RESERVE the room I wanted, that’s the whole point of a reservation. I was asked if I was parking a vehicle on site for the night & had to give a description of my car. We brought our bags to our room which was very warm, so we adjusted the thermostat & headed out.
When leaving the parking lot, the lot attendant was very rude. He said we needed a slip of paper from the hotel but when I said we just checked in but the front desk clerk didn’t give us anything but he rudely told us that without the paper he couldn't help us. I went back inside & the man at the front desk laughed & said he was supposed to give us a pass. He then told us that we would need to pay $7 to park for the night.
When we returned to the hotel, instead of our room cooling down, it had actually got hotter, so we opened the window wide open & went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner. The service was TERRIBLE. My boyfriend tried to order a beer, twice he came back & told us that they were out of them. The dinner that my boyfriend ordered came with a soup & he asked if it was possible to have a salad instead & the bartender said that it would cost extra but came back & said he would work it out so we didn’t have to pay extra. Our caesar salads were so terrible so we moved our plates off to the side of our table waiting to be picked up but we were continually ignored. The 2 employees were in the kitchen more than in the front serving the few guests. They still did not remove the salads when our main course was brought to us or asked us if they were ok. We were charged extra in fact on our bill instead of working a substitution like he told us he would do. For 15+ minutes there was no employee to take our payment, we ended up leaving the table & standing at the bar waiting for an employee to come out so we could pay & get out of that place.
Back in our room, the heat still blew out of the Heat/AC unit even though we had adjusted the thermostat down to 45 degrees F just to get it to cool down. Needless to say, the window had to stay wide open (in Feb) for our entire stay.
We used the shuttle bus during our stay which was convenient. The front desk told us the bus would be returning any moment so we went outside to smoke beforehand. We boarded the bus & for the next 5 minutes, nobody else got on the bus so we left for our destination. When we were 3/4 of the way to our destination, the hotel called telling him to bring us back to pick up the other guests that were now waiting. Being close to the target centre, we didn’t want to go back so we asked the driver for directions & we walked the rest of the way.
That night we tried to coming in through the door that leads to the parking lot & the door wouldn't open. We buzzed to the front desk & It was very difficult to understand him through the speaker, but after a few times, we finally understand him telling us to see our room key. He finally opened the door. Every time I tried to use the phone to make a local call, I kept reaching the front desk even though I followed the directions on the phone. The pizza man was not allowed to come directly to our room which was very inconvenient to come down to the front desk to get our order. We stayed for 1 night & we had all these issues. We will never return to this hotel. I hope you have a better experience.
