My wife and I are cafe Ena "regulars". Regulars in the sense, (we love this place so much), that we try not to go every week and spoil the special experience it is. Over the past two years we have introduced Cafe Ena to 40+ people and counting.
It is a small locally owned neighborhood restaurant in South Minneapolis that offers excellent latin fusion cuisine. The best appetizers include the ceviche, chunky gaucamole, and the Camaron Caribe (shrimp with corn-potato fritters that are to die for!) As for the entrees, we enjoy them all, but we have never gone wrong selecting the daily specials. They prepare fish as well as anyone in Minneapolis! (including McCormick & Schmick's or Oceanaire).
The atmosphere is simple, but comfortable. We like to come a little earlier in the evening so we can get one of the few booths. Most of the servers are quite friendly, with one or two exceptions, and are always attentive. The pricing is a little high, but is within other quality dining experiences, and has never been a deal breaker.
My wife and I highly recommend Cafe Ena. But please, save a booth for us!
