We like to drive around the lakes, of which Minneapolis has many. Beautiful tree lined twisting drives and many activities going on in all seasons. It is a regular fall destination for viewing fall leaves which for us includes Minnehaha parkway, and lakes Harriet, Calhoun, and Isles. There are great places to stop off for a picnic, or for further exploration. Parking inside of regional parks (like Minnehaha near Nokomis) requires a season pass. These areas help make living in a city much nicer.
