“Memorable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Every dish had a fantastic mix of flavors. I loved every bite from the scallop appetizer to the butterscotch budino dessert that 7 of us shared. The second floor was quieter than downstairs, but there is an elevator and a lovely restroom. Don't forget to pay the parking meter.

“Good but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

During our visit in August we were told by a few people that this restaurant was a must while in Minneapolis. For some reason we were not blown away by this place. As vegetarians we were surely testing the kitchen to see if they could handle a non-meat dish and, in the end, I would grade them with a C+. Everything was fairly tasty but it was missing the refinement one would expect from a highly touted restaurant, in fact, I think their current or former chef was a James Beard winner or nominee. The desserts were the high point of the night. In summary I would recommend this restaurant but with a few caveats: 1) it's not the best choice for vegetarians, the atmosphere upstairs is inferior to the downstairs, it feels more like a waiting room that they never expected to use until they got full. 2) the service can be frustratingly slow at times (we heard this from a couple of friends after the fact). 3) Don't take a table upstairs, it has a weird vibe to it, sort of like you're not supposed to be there.

“Great food, even better desserts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Just visiting Minneapolis we were looking for a place to have dinner. Found the Eatery on TA and were not disappointed. We started with the duck & radicchio salad, ordered half tagliatelle w/ foie gras meatballs and veal w/mushrooms. Everything was very tasty, fresh and well arranged on the plate. The desserts are outstanding - not the typical American big cream cakes. We loved the lemon curd poppy seed and the chocolate cake w/ olive oil and vanilla ice cream. Great food, but a noisy place. If you are looking for a romantic one you are wrong at the Eatery. When you arrive without reservation you are a little lost where to go or who puts down your name. There should be someone at the entrance to greet you since it was chaotic with people standing at the entrance.

“Consistently brilliant...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The 112 is a fabulous restaurant combining imaginative cookery and high quality ingredients in a relaxed and informal setting. This was my third visit, and possibly the best yet. The star of the show was a slow roasted veal breast dish served with a pickled mushroom salad which was simply outstanding. The restaurant has a busy, buzzy atmosphere, and it was nice to see young families with kids in this kind of environment...

Highly recommended!

“You won't be disappointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

112 eatery was recommended by a colleague as I was in town for a training event for work. This restaurant far exceeded my expectations. This chef is beyond talented with his unique recipes. The fresh ricotta with white truffle honey appetizer is a must try. I had the halibut for dinner and it was exceptional. And if that wasn't enough I couldn't resist trying the butterscotch budino dessert upon the recommendation of the waiter. Can't wait to go back! Service and good were 5 star! You should also try the owners other restaurant Bar La Grassa! Just as fabulous!!!
