“Great food, even better desserts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Just visiting Minneapolis we were looking for a place to have dinner. Found the Eatery on TA and were not disappointed. We started with the duck & radicchio salad, ordered half tagliatelle w/ foie gras meatballs and veal w/mushrooms. Everything was very tasty, fresh and well arranged on the plate. The desserts are outstanding - not the typical American big cream cakes. We loved the lemon curd poppy seed and the chocolate cake w/ olive oil and vanilla ice cream. Great food, but a noisy place. If you are looking for a romantic one you are wrong at the Eatery. When you arrive without reservation you are a little lost where to go or who puts down your name. There should be someone at the entrance to greet you since it was chaotic with people standing at the entrance.

“Consistently brilliant...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The 112 is a fabulous restaurant combining imaginative cookery and high quality ingredients in a relaxed and informal setting. This was my third visit, and possibly the best yet. The star of the show was a slow roasted veal breast dish served with a pickled mushroom salad which was simply outstanding. The restaurant has a busy, buzzy atmosphere, and it was nice to see young families with kids in this kind of environment...

Highly recommended!

“You won't be disappointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

112 eatery was recommended by a colleague as I was in town for a training event for work. This restaurant far exceeded my expectations. This chef is beyond talented with his unique recipes. The fresh ricotta with white truffle honey appetizer is a must try. I had the halibut for dinner and it was exceptional. And if that wasn't enough I couldn't resist trying the butterscotch budino dessert upon the recommendation of the waiter. Can't wait to go back! Service and good were 5 star! You should also try the owners other restaurant Bar La Grassa! Just as fabulous!!!

“Great food! WAY TOO LOUD!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I cannot say enough about the food - it was outstanding. service was very good and attentive, but the restaurant is unbelievably loud. Probably the loudest restaurant I have been to (not counting pubs / bars). This is an upscale menu, somewhat eroded by the atmosphere. If you do go, try to get a table towards the back as there is more dampening of sound in the back. The front by the windows seems to amplify all the sound in the restaurant. It was very difficult to hear a normal conversation during our fantastic meal.

“Romantic decadence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We were in town for labour weekend and wanted a couple of special restaurants for the stay. This one jumped out from the reviews.

Super cute, cozy atmosphere. Fairly dark and loud which I actually love so that doesn't lose it any stars !
Started with the gnocchi and beet salad. Hubby hates beets so i got to devour it all which was really all part of my cunning plan ;)
The gnocchi was cooked to perfection, wonderful... Searing on the outside and soft and creamy inside with a sprinkling of cheese. Oh my!

The wine bottles seemed to be quite reasonable prices so we split a nice red
The main courses were totally decadent. Tagliatelle with foie gras meatballs for me which was outstanding. I've tried Foie gras before in Canada and I found it way too rich but after reading here that it was lighter I tried it again and yes it was much lighter and delicious. Got the half order which was more than enough for an entree..for me anyway.
Hubby also had a pasta dish, his had some kind of lamb ragu and it was much richer in flavour so he was happy he also got the half order.

The finish of the meal with a little pot of some Creme caramel (pudding style in a mason jar with salted caramel on top)
I can't fault anything in this cute little place and whilst it was expensive this meal would have cost a FORTUNE on the east coast!
Highly recommend it to anyone visiting...
