“So Sad”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

We went there last night. We were seated in the large dinning room and the room was cold, like fifty degrees, went and sat near kitchen which was warmer. My food was very salty and luke warm. My husbands food was a meat ball in cream sauce, the sauce was a corn starch sauce.
My husband never complains, but he did, and the waitress told him the hundreds of people haved loved it that way. One of the wait staff was very unhappy and had a loud conversation complaining to the hostess. Our friends food was really good, the pork chop and potato salad. We had loved this restaurand in the past. In the dining rooms there were only three tables of people. So sad.

“Lost its charm.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

I have eaten here with family and friends for over forty years. Our recent visit was by far the worst. Slow service, lukewarm food, charged for items ordered, but not served. The server was actually quite unpleasant. The food was good, but it sat too long before being served. We had to stand at the door with our check to get out. Spent the entire two-hour dinner waiting for one thing or another--it was a Thursday night and the place was maybe half full. What a shame to see a once great restaurant sink so low.

“A trip to Germany without the cost”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

absolutely authentic German food. Takes you back to the Inns found in the Black Forest. The Apple Strudel is delicious!! When a dessert head like me loves it, bet your bottom dollar it is first class. The prices are moderate.

“Good food, horrible service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

We liked the food, especially smoked pork chops and German potato salad. Waitress forgot things, misspoke about the menu, and I think overcharged us. Won't go back.

“Cheerful, Nonchalant German Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

Black Forest Inn is always a delight. Great atmosphere for groups, couples and friends with pleasant, whimsical decor. Celebrated Oktoberfest and enjoyed several German craft beers and plates of spaetzle on the cheap; as the night went on, the price of beer pints went down by the hour and we drank until each keg was killed. Their atmosphere is less intense than Gastoff's in Northeast. It is more family-friendly and suitable for intimate gatherings instead of a wild night out.
