“Very Okay food. Disappointing.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014 via mobile

One of my favorite restaurants going back 20 years. Mostly disappointed recently. Increased prices and reduced quality. In the past, for example, I purchased a whole key lime pie. It was among the best I ever had. Latest experience left me feeling like the pie came from an "all you can eat" buffet. Crab cake - which with the right Oceannaire chef - historically was great, is now much smaller, $5 higher, and lots of wet filler. The happy hour offers the best value for the quality these days.

“At least it's seafood in Minnesota”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

You cannot live any further away from an ocean than living in Minnesota. Having a place with fresh seafood is a treat although the cost would make a person from either coast or the Gulf blanch. Oceanaire is a very nice place to celebrate.

“Great Fun and Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Oceanaire is well-regarded in the city, and is fun in its decoration and food presentation. Great round booth. Nice wine list.

“The space is good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Really like the space - good lighting and table spacing. Some of the wait-staff are GREAT (John in the bar) but one one in particular seems cross and bitter and isn't fun to deal with. The food is good - very fresh seafood. I think that it's best eaten simply grilled. Cocktails excelllent.

“3rd times not a charm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Dissapointed.
For the past 3 years we've gone back in hopes that something would change from the old oceanaires location on nicollet ave. Everytime the food has come out cold. Lobster is cold, the butter was so cold that is gelled up. The rib-eye was so fatty "NOT MARBLED" that we had a pile of mush fat left over. The calamari was really good and the mojito's are nice but I'm afraid to say that after shelling out 500 clams we would do better cooking at home.
