Restaurants generally fall into two categories...new and hip, or established and classic. At Nye's Polonaise Room you are unlikely to find any more classic dining establishment in Minneapolis or America, for that fact.
Nye's is a cultural experience. Where else can the tinkling of the ivories at the piano bar with its Broadway-wannabe singers compete with a polka band in the next room? The pierogies, stuffed cabbage, killer Kielbasa from their neighbor, Kramarcsuk’s along with the rest of their menu is pretty darn good, too.
If you look more closely, it is apparent the current owners of Nye's Polonaise Room eyes are no longer on the restaurant as much as it is on the land it sits upon now that the economy is reportedly on an upswing.
The people of Minneapolis should not be shocked to read or hear the news that this venerable dining institution will be joining the other once-great Minneapolis restaurants such Charlie's Cafe Exceptional, the Forum Cafeteria and Nankin that were sacrificed for the land they sit upon in order to make way for more non-descript architectural monstrosities.
Get to Nye's before it is too late! The clock is ticking...loudly. Żegnaj i jej było dobrze cię znam!
