I really could have rated the Pig & Fiddle "excellent" but rarely, if ever, give out an "excellent" but I love this restaurant. The list of Belgian beers is certainly adequate for myself and am working my way down the list. The waitstaff are helpful in this regard as I have a slim range of beers that I can drink. We found visiting the restaurant when it just opens on a Sunday is a good time for us for it is very quiet but then surprisingly it fills up almost entirely by the time we are ready to leave but by then we have had two pints of delicious beer and the restaurant doesn't seem unpleasantly noisy or distracting but rather a lot of FUN with people out enjoying themselves. I really enjoy the Ploughman's Lunch (always a favorite pub food when visiting the UK) but the Pig & Fiddle's was so much better than any other I have had. Delicious. My husband is English and usually orders Fish & Chips when it is available on a menu but while the Pig & Fiddle's was very good it wasn't as good as he has had elsewhere. I'll have to try some of the other dishes on the menu but right now I'm so happy with the Ploughman's Lunch! The restaurant has two distinct dining areas: one by the bar and the other by the fireplace. We always sit in the room by the bar as the other area is darker and might be OK for a romantic dinner but that isn't why we come to the Pig & Fiddle. (BTW I read the WhitePineLane review and saw that the only thing that impressed this person was seeing Tom Barnard whom I had never even heard of!) Try this restaurant: it has a real pub feel to it (not in the room with the fireplace), the beer was excellent, and the waitstaff friendly.
