“Spend a day or a week!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

This chain of lakes in the Grand Round is amazing...you can drive it, bike it, or walk it. We've lived in West suburb of Minneapolis for years and finally took the time to explore the Grand Round...in fact we spent a whole day exploring each part of the area! (I must admit that we DROVE rather than bike...). Take a picnic or just sit and enjoy but there's also plenty of exploring if you choose....this is truly an urban surprise and its beautiful.

“Gorgeous lakes and rivers- water views everywhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

The roads leading from one lake to another and around the city are excellent. Minneapolis has clearly invested money in its roadways and unless you are in major rush hour timing, it is convenient and easy to get around. It is lovely to see that this city is designed around its waterways and that there are great views in so many places, from 4 lakes to a waterfall, from several river fronts to viewing balconies and towers, in historic and modern neighborhoods and using all of these assets very well during the fine weather. We went to an Artcar parade around Lake Harriet that was fun, viewed walkers, bikers, and drivers...alll enjoying the fine views and good weather. It was well designed to allow for visiting.

“You'll forget your doing exercise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Any leg of the Grand Round is beautiful, peaceful. Toilet facilities are fairly frequent as are water fountains to fill your bottles. We enjoy weekdays the most. Have biked with kids and very easy?

“Beautiful Views”

Great way to walk or bike and see the area around the river. The Stone Arch Bridge and Minnehaha Falls were my favorites.

“Great way to get see the city & spend a day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Plan ahead and use the maps. Great stops for food and rest as you cover the city perimeter going from park to park and along the river. If the trip is to long for a single trip you can use the midtown Greenway or light rail to cut the distance down. Over between Northeast Minneapolis and the University the path diverts to street paths so keep your eyes open.
