“Local history made entertaining, fascinating and tasty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

What a great museum! A beautifully restored flour mill, still bearing the scars of assorted industrial accidents and fires, that tells Minneapolis' proud flour-milling history in a way that's engaging for adults and children alike. The Flour Tower ride is not to be missed, both for the story it tells and the stunning views over the Mississippi that you'll get at the end. And the gift shop has awesome treasures for the baker in your life.

“Interesting history and a variety of activities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

An entertaining history of a once-vital industry for the area, and therefore, a history of the city and region as well. The audiovisual flour tower tour was unlike anything I have seen in other museums. Other exhibits include a variety of interactive exhibits for kids, as well as accounts of daily life during the peak 1880 to 1930 era. The museum is also convenient to the river, the arch railroad bridge and the locks, as well as to the Guthrie Theater.

“Fun and historical”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Really well curated to be interesting and fun. Gave me a new perspective on the history of Minneapolis. The people who work here are also super nice and helpful. Someone even suggested a place to go for dinner afterwards.

“Take it from the skeptic, you HAVE to experience this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

I will not lie, this place was my husband's idea (he is the museum lover), but I have to confess - this place is worth every penny. Any museum that can hold my interest and the interest of children while satisfying a museum and history lover has to be worth it! Be sure to experience all of it - even the gift shop is quite impressive! They will announce different events throughout the day that your paid entry automatically covers. SO WORTH THE TRIP!
