“Farm love”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Love Wise Acre for breakfast. Veggie hash is my dish of choice. Not a finely chopped dish it is chunky, tasty and flavorful. Best cottage bacon (not fatty) ever, aioli is a great accompaniment to the dish. The marmalades/jams are fresh and are made with interesting combinations of ingredients. Love being able to have a mimosa if I am so inclined. I could do with a less acidic cup of coffee but all in all it's a great food experience. Though not cheap, the food quality is excellent. Don't open till 9 on the weekends so early birds beware - it's time to relax.

“Great fresh food from the farm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

We ate lunch there yesterday and it was excellent. The beet borscht soup was delicious. The hamburger with brie and bacon I had was really flavorful and filling but not too large. The Autumn Salad was fabulous mixture with wild rice, chicken, roasted squash, beets, bacon steak and pickled egg over greens with a light dressing. Fun decor from converted gas station. We will go again and highly recommend.

“Shades of Autumn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

If you love a good salad of the non-vegetarian variety, this is your place. I've been here many times and you cannot go wrong with their Shades of Autumn salad (the name, BTW, preceeded "50 Shades of Gray"). They change this salad up for the various seasons (Shades of Summer and so on. All are crave-worthy. A lovely mix of seasonal roasted vegetables, greens, grain (chicken and wild rice salad now) and, best of all, a "bacon steak" and a seasonal vinaigrette atop. The bacon is from local producers. It's wonderful and a very filling meal. When the weather is nice, they open it up and it's a wonderful indoor/outdoor spot. They are in a partnership with the fabulous garden shop (and CSA delivery spot) across the street, Tangletown Gardens. The garden surrounding the restaurant parking lot is worth a visit in late summer.

“Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen and wait staff.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

We have been wanting to try out Wise Acre for some time as have heard GREAT things. I have to say I was disappointed. The server must not have been familiar with the soup as he described the soup as Polish sausage/Kielbasa with vegetables when in fact it was German sausage with cabbage. The kids farm raised sausage selection was a dried out hotdog that looked like an ordinary Bakalars dog and a coney bun that was so dried out it crumbled to pieces when my daughter bit into it. It also came with 4 small carrot strips. Such a deal for $9.
The bright spot was my husband's selection of the farm stew special. Tender beef and tomatoes in a smooth sauce.
The wait staff was aloof and cared more about maintaining their personal conversations than checking on the guests.
Must have been an off night.
