We spent New Years Eve here with our daughter and some other friends. They offered a very nice pacckage New Years Eve for the kids.
The ice rink is a must see, it is an actual old train depot. The hotel is beautiful with history at every corner.
The beds were actually real comfortable and clean.
The hotel was very clean. There were lots if dining choices and it has a very nice lounge.

My husband and I stayed here on our anniversary the weekend after Thanksgiving. It was a King Room with an in-room whirlpool. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets. The in room whirlpool is big enough for 2 but a little noisy if you wanted to watch TV. The only drawback was that the room was on the first floor down from the Depot waterpark so during the day there was a bit of noise from kids running up and down the hall. Overall though, I was very pleased with the hotel. The public areas have many interesting train related displays and very comfortable areas to sit and relax. If you like to ice skate the attached rink is also the nicest in the Twin Cities.

“Nice hotel but service is a little choppy”

The Depot Minneapolis, A Renaissance Hotel

I stayed here two nights on business. I thought the public areas and guest rooms were well appointed, my room was a nice size and staff were courteous. Nice hotel bar and the food was pretty good. Location was terrific. My one complaint involved check-in. I reserved a room with a King Bed about six weeks before my stay; I arrived at check in time, but my room was not ready. I was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes eventually became an hour. When I was finally shown to my room, it had twin beds rather than the king room I reserved. (It was also on the lowest floor, as far as could be from the elevator; with a view of a rooftop compressor unit). I was travelling alone, so could live with all that., but I think a high end hotel should really get the reservation right.

Stayed here 2 nights at the beginning of October for a wedding (held at the Mill Museum). The rooms aren't too big, but very modern and comfortable. And the bed especially was nice with soft sheets and a variety of pillows to choose from.

I've traveled a lot , but this hotel by far was the most friendly hotel I've ever stayed in. It's not like I needed much from the staff, but they always went above and beyond. For instance, there was a gaggle of us downstairs desperate for breakfast (but wanting to go somewhere other than the hotel restaurant). The woman at the desk marked several local places on a map and once a consensus was made - she called the place for a reservation. I couldn't believe it! Also we were granted a late check-in and they let us store a bag at the front desk for a few hours when we weren't yet guests (the day before). Both bell hops were very helpful with directions and in ever situation it wasn't as it if was for tips.

Also, this was the perfect place for a lot of people to gather. There is a really nice sitting room by the bar and a nice terrace to sit on if it's nice out. It was the perfect place for all the wedding guests to gather before and after the event.

I thought the location was just fine. It's about a 10 min. walk through downtown to Nicollet Mall (sp?), but the proximity to the Getty, river and the Mill Museum was perfect for us. The coffee place next door was convenient, but beware of the stale half frozen bagels.

“Great hotel, good deal.”

The Depot Minneapolis, A Renaissance Hotel

We stayed here in June for a friend's wedding. The hotel was recently converted from a Courtyard to a Renaissance. We had a very plesant stay - our room was roomy, clean, and had an ultra-comfortable king size bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a small but clean and functioning gym and business center. A Dunn Bros coffee shop is located right next door which is great for a quick morning coffee or bagel. Good location too - it's a short and pretty walk across the bridge to the St. Anthony Main neighborhood. We took the light rail from the airport to the hotel - it's just a few blocks from the light rail stop to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again - we found the price to be very reasonable for the room and overall hotel experience.
