I love Bar La Grassa! Any time I want to go out to dinner in Minneapolis, I think, is there some place else that could be as good as Bar La Grassa, or would I rather just go to BLG and have a fabulous meal? The food here is that good. The soft eggs with lobster? Decadent. The egg ravioli? Sinful. The scallops? Perfect. The mushroom agnolotti? My stomach is growling thinking about them. The cauliflower gnocchi? A lovely hint of orange on a merrily different dish. The red wine spaghetti? Even this incredibly simple preparation is utterly delish. They plunk down a dish of marinated gigante white beans with little pickled peppers in them in front of you when you first arrive and even those I pine for when I haven't been to BLG in awhile. Go, you will thank yourself. If you can get in. Put your name on the list for the pasta bar, it's almost impossible to get a reservation for a weekend night, but if you pop in a little early and put your name down, have a drink or two at the bar, you will be happily noshing away in no time.
