“Walking, biking, roller blading, canoeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

One of the city lakes surrounded by grand mansions. The walk around Lake of the Isles is just over two miles, and is connected by trails to Lake Calhoun, Cedar Lake, and Lake Harriet. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle from Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, Cedar Lake and Brownie Lake.

“What Makes Minneapolis Special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

"The Lakes" are an almost daily destination for natives if for walking or biking. Each is about 3 miles in diameter and each is connected with the other with walking or biking paths. The biking baths continue on as part of The Grand Round bike system. Scenic, beautiful, fun. And a mile or so from downtown!

“Beautiful drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

We headed out for a drive after a morning of thunderstorms and drove around the chain of lakes. Sadly the rain kept coming so we did not get out and walk it like we had hoped to. What a beautiful setting with the homes and the lakes, I wish we could have walked it but driving it was second best.

“The Chain of Lakes is the Essence of Minneapolis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

If you have never been to Minneapolis, number one on your Minneapolis bucket list should be a walk, bike-ride or drive around one or more of the lakes in Minneapolis. Lakes Harriet and Calhoun are my favorites. It takes about an hour to walk around either Harriet or Calhoun but you can run if you are in a hurry - lots of people do. Visit the Rose Garden at Harriet and/or the Japanese Garden.

“A major feature of Minneapolis, "City of Lakes"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

Without these lakes, this city would not be considered so beautiful. Boat and bike rentals are also available. A "must see" if you ever visit Minneapolis. Where the action is.
