Everything at the Guthrie was fantastic. We saw A Christmas Carol and loved it. All the seats are good. Parking is easy, staff is very friendly and courteous!
The Guthrie is a wonderful venue to see a play. The 3 stages each offer a unique viewing experience, well set up for the type of play being performed. I have had seats in a variety of places in each production area, and have never had a "bad" seat. The view of the Mississippi from the "bridge to nowhere" deck is also lovely.
We have season tickets to the Guthrie and usually have a difficult time picking just 6 plays to attend. They have a variety of well known and some world premier offerings. The acting talent is superb. The architecture of the building is unique with panoramic views of the Mississippi River. Most seats have a good view of the stage our only complaint is that there isn't a lot of leg room for those over six feet.
I loved the old Guthrie and was sad they had to build another but this new theater of theirs is beautiful. It's a great Minneapolis experience to go downtown, grab some dinner and see a production here. If the restaurants downtown are full there are 2 places to eat inside the theater as well, one is more formal and the other is more of a cafe type.
Everything a theater should be. Be sure to check out the view and some of their great eating spots. Never seen a bad show there.
