a bad place to stay. a very overpriced hotel with small rooms and mediocre to poor service, food, amenities. You can do much better than the Minneapolis Hilton. I recommend a Hampton Inn or any other. This place is a money pit and to get anyone to move you will need to throw money at them.

I stayed at the Minneapolis Hilton for three nights, along with three other co-workers, in the week before Memorial Day, in 2015. The hotel property is located a convenient walk from the Light Rail, at the Nicollet Mall stop.

The hotel is a little older property, but is really impressive, both from the exterior as well as the interior appointments. The front desk staff were quick, efficient and genuinely friendly at check-in.

My room (18th floor) was very nice, comfortable, well-decorated and clean as a whistle. The room at night was quiet, with no street noise or noise from the occupants from adjoining rooms. The curtains in the room did a nice job of shutting out the early morning light - which can be an occasional "issue" for guests. The rooms comes with everything you would expect (TV, hair dryer, clock, phone, refrigerator, iron/ironing board, mirrors and good lighting). The lack of free Wi-Fi at Hilton Hotel properties is always a "thing" for guests, but for the price of the room (a good value), I guess it's just a necessary trade-off that you've got to learn to live with. Given the pervasiveness of electronics and Wi-Fi access, I think I might have actually been willing to swap the flat screen TV for free Wi-Fi access.

As is often the case, the hotel staff significantly contribute (or detract) from the lodging experience. Everyone on the hotel staff were positive contributors during our stay - whether it was the Front Desk staff, the wait staff in the Skywater restaurant, or the room cleaning staff (who were always willing to say hello and ask if there was anything they could do for you).

Given the proximity to the Minneapolis Convention Center, the Light Rail system, and some of the other attractions and destinations in downtown Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Hilton was a winner, and we would be more than happy to return in the future.

Room Tip: All the rooms on the upper floors probably provide nice views of downtown Minneapolis

Stayed 3 night here. Hotel was great, clean, great service. Unfortunately my car was broken into on the first night of the stay. The garage is under the Hilton but operated by MPLS so Hilton has no control over the parking. MPLS and most everyone else was so surprised that there was a break in.... "that is very rare in Minneapolis" was the common reaction. Beware: Minneapolis is just like any other big city no matter what the locals say. We learned there were at least 4 other break ins during our convention. There seems to be very few security cameras in the garage and I found no obvious panic/assistance buttons. And of course no cell phone service in the underground. To Hilton's credit, they made up for the incident by offering free parking in a safe location for the next 2 nights. I recommend this hotel, just don't park your car in the city garages. Also beware of the aggressive panhandlers on the streets.

Hotel is nice and convenient to the convention center. Rooms are clean and employees are helpful. But skip room service -- no creativity in the food, not much food and it is expensive (really expensive) once you add on all the service charges (let alone a tip).

Hotel is older but well kept up. My room was clean and very nice. The housekeepers were quick and did a great job. Try their bar/restaurant very good food - especially the pizza. Access to the sky walk was a great way to get to the convention center.

We stayed at the Hilton while exhibiting at a trade show at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Hotel is connected to the convention center by a skywalk. This helped because it was a rainy weekend. It is very close to restaurants, bars and shopping.

Wait staff was courteous and prompt. Hotel is spotless. Parking is underneath and cost 13.00 a day. WIFI is not provided. It is 14 and 19 dollars a day. It was hit and miss. Good thing company picked up the tab because I would be pretty upset at spending 250.00 a night and then have to pay for everything else on top of that.
