“One drawback”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

My stay at this hotel was excellent, the staff was great, the room was excellent, clean, comfortable and quiet, with a great location in downtown Minneapolis, close to anything you are looking for. However, in the year 2014 I can't give a hotel an excellent rating when they do not offer free wifi, a Hilton hotel should be ashamed of themselves for nickel and diming their customers by charging them for wifi.

The hotel has a nice little bar in the lobby, I enjoyed a couple drinks there in a good atmosphere. There is a charge for parking, but that is par for the course in downtown Minneapolis.

A really nice hotel with the exception of charging for wifi.

Again I generally book hotels where I have a higher status when I get a chance. Although the rooms are updated the benefits for a Hilton Gold member were VERY disappointing. The "executive lounge" had only a little food for apps and no beverages besides soda and water. Who drinks soda anymore?

Wine was a pay machine--how tacky for an executive lounge. I have never been in a Hilton executive lounge that did not provide wine. Also breakfast was pathetic, only bagels cream cheese (packaged cream cheese) and a bit of fruit. This was a breakfast for maybe a double tree hilton NOT a Hilton. Will not return to this hotel despite me returning to Minneapolis.

This hotel has an outstanding location and is connected to the Skywalk system. The rooms and hallways are very modern but apparently Hilton has a thing for smallish queen size beds. Hard to give high marks when your family is cramped into small beds.

Room Tip: Beware of the queen size beds

We stayed at the Hilton while attending a conference at the nearby Minneapolis Convention Center. The hotel was busy with several conferences, a wedding and a Minneasota Vikings game weekend yet service was good and the sleeping areas were quiet.

It was a bit of a hike throughh the skyway system to the convention center but at least it was out of the weather.

Internet access and speed was good. The matress on the beds could have been a bit firmer for me.

Overall a good stay. I'll come back next time I have an event at the Convention Center.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators

The hotel was awesome, fitness centre and hot tub wonderful, just the front desk was very unhelpful. Had to fish out information about how to get to the airport, and local restaurants from other guests, and seek the information other places.

We stayed at the Hilton Minneapolis for several days when in town on business. It's very conveniently located in the downtown area within walking distance to shopping, the light rail, theater district, and parks. It is also connected to the Minneapolis Skyway system which makes traversing downtown very convenient in inclement weather. The decor and comfort were what we expect from a Hilton, very comfortable and decorated beautifully...even the rooms. We did have a couple issues, thus the 4 stars. A secretary made our reservations, and we were surprised when we arrive that we did not have a king bed, which would be fine, because in most Hilton's we have stayed at, we got a room with two queens. This Hilton only has kings or two doubles, very disappointing. The response from the desk clerk when we expressed our surprise was, "Well, that's what you reserved." She was not very helpful or empathetic. In the end, after unpacking, we just decided to make the best of the two doubles rather than repack and change rooms. The other issue was food. The breakfast in the restaurant was ridiculously expensive. We ended up grabbing something at the coffee stand most mornings, but did go out for breakfast our last day. Also, we arrived late the first night and thought the pizza they advertised in the room looked great, only to find out they stopped serving it at 10:00. Another night, we returned after midnight to find there was no food available. Others were in the lobby with the same issue. A vending machine located about 10 floors away, hung up when delivering my item so, still no food. Very frustrating. Despite these issues, still a nice stay, we would return.

Room Tip: Not sure which side of the hotel we were on, but we had a great city view. The lights at night were...

Very beautiful place to stay! The decorations in this hotel are breathtaking. We loved it here and will stay again! The location is great if you are planning on attending any events at the Target Center.
