Stayed here for a romantic evening with my fiancee for Valentine's Day 2009. Convenient location downtown with skyline views. Room was very modern and trendy. Great staff. Would stay here over and over again!

What a blast we had here! As soon as we arrived we knew were going to have a blast. The lobby is filled with board games, a hip bar area, shuffle board table, and pool tables.
The entire hotel is very modern and chic. The beds are probably the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!

We wanted to check this place out and had a early flight out the next day. It was perfect. The subway train (which was really clean and nice) is a few blocks away from the hotel and their shuttle takes you there for free! There is also a great bar down the street which we stayed at maybe a little too long.

When we returned to the hotel after a long night out and weren't ready to end the fun and decided to play some shuffleboard in the lobby, since it was 2am, I figured we wouldn't be allowed to do it for long, but the front desk agent as he wasn't very busy was able to get us a drink at the bar and hung out with us for a little while until his phone rang. . . what a great experience and level of engagement from the staff.

We will definitely be back!!!!

Stayed at aloft Nov.28/09 as we were in town for the Vikings/Bears game. The location to the Metrodome can't be beat as it is only a block and a half to the stadium as well as too the Metro light rail. We paid $89.00 for one night and with taxes and parking it came to $115.00. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpfull. As the football game was pushed back from a noon start to a 3:00 start we were unsure where we would be able to leave our car, fortunatetly we were allowed to leave our car in the parkade until after the game ended as well they let us check out one hour later as well. The only negative's for me was no continental breakfast but they did have a "refuel "station where you could purchase food/drink. I also didn't care for the sliding bathroom door that doesn't lock or close. We would stay here again as the price/location was right.

With staff greeting you with an "Aloha" and evrything with an open feeling, the aloft Minneapolis is a unusual hotel concept.

It is not a full-service hotel, but discounted parking is convenient just across the street and there are "cute", but very practical, luggage carts. The "smoking" courtyard is very relaxing with piped-in music. An upscale 24 hour snack bar sells good breakfast sandwiches to take back to your room or eat with new found friends in the open lobby. The glasswalled, indoor pool is small but hits the spot on a summer's day. Rooms are smallish but there is good storage space for luggage used on a 3 week road trip. Location is good -- not quite downtown but close to it and just a short walk to the renovated area along the Mississippi River.

We enjoyed our quick pass through of Minneapolis and our stay at aloft.

I've stayed at many W Hotels and frequently hangout and drink at their lounges and this A Loft does considerably well for the price point. At about $85 - $125 a night, these studio rooms are priced just right. The lobby has free internet use, swimming pool, an ample size gym, and a few large conference rooms. Their breakfast selection in the morning is more than sufficient (hot breakfast sandwiches, coffee, juice, candy, fruit, etc). You can even print your boarding pass out in the lobby, but this location lacks a business center if you want to do some serious work (fax, photocopy, and a private desk/space). It even has a free pool table in the lobby. The front desk told me there was free wifi in the rooms, but I didn't find a connection. The flat screen tv in the bedrooms are about 36 inch and the showers are sufficient (no tubs in any of the rooms -- maybe the accessible rooms have tubs). The soap and shampoo was from a dispenser (not your fresh stock), kind of like the gym... so that weirded me out a little bit. There are about 5-6 restaurants within a 2 block walking range (sushi, wine bar, etc).

I stayed at aloft on the recommendation of a friend. I wasn't sure what to expect based on some of the reviews I saw here. Happily, I had a great experience. The decor is fun and funky-kind of "Hotel Ikea." The only negative was that my original room had a door connecting it to the room next door, and I could hear every word said by the occupants. I asked to be moved and was given another room right away. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

I stayed at this property for two nights over Halloween weekend. Was in town for the Michigan State v Minnesota football game. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Hotel offers a shuttle to nearby TCF Stadium and any other nearby location if reserved in advance. Property has a warehouse/minimalist feel to it. Lots of energy in the lounge/lobby area on Friday night. Not sure if that was a combination of football fans, a wedding party and general Halloween fun, or if that is routine for a Friday. Great location for sporting events, especially at Metrodome, but light rail is a short walk away and can take you to other venues in a snap. I will stay at another aloft property first chance I get.
