The Days Inn is right off the interstate and it the typical "right of the interstate" hotels. We were in Mankato for the MN Vikings Training Camp and had failed to make reservations early enough elsewhere. We figured we wouldn't be in the room long enough for it to matter.
Everything about the hotel was just okay. Check in was fairly pleasant and quick. The room was budget hotelish and had a strong antiseptic smell. Our room included a refrigerator and microwave and had a parking lot view. We laughed a bit about the view because if we had been able to hang out of the window, we would have had a water view. There is a decent pond adjacent to the property. It looked as if there were people hanging around the beach there. When we drove around this pond, maybe it's known as a lake, and we found a nice public swimming pool and a large park. If we'd had more time, we would have spent time there.
The Days Inn must be a frequent lodging choice for construction workers. The parking lot was fairly empty when we left the hotel to go out on the town and when we came back around 1:00 am, it was packed with workers' trucks and vans. We actually had difficulty finding a spot and ended up parking in an area we were sure was meant for parking. However, even with all that business, our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioner was a little noisy.
