My family stopped at the Great! Lakes Candy Kitchen on our way through Knife River - a very worthwhile stop! The stop was recommended by a North Shore homeowner, who told us the candy shop has been in the same family for three generations. The options for homemade candy are many - chocolates, taffy, caramel apples, ice cream treats, lollipops, hard and soft candies and more. Flavor options are many, too - licorice taffy, blueberry sugar rings, and peanut butter vanilla fudge, just to name a few. We sat in hammocks, rockers, and on picnic tables provided outside the shop to enjoy the treats. It's a place that I would tell friends about and return to when I'm back in the area.
