The restaurant side is lit incredibly stark bright so we chose to sit in the bar side. Last tables were by the drafty front door or by the open-plan kitchen. Sat outside the open-plan kitchen; the floor had manky area rugs and food dropped everywhere. (*shivver Seems this is also where the second exit is) Not once did i see anyone wash their hands..
Though a but curt, service was not unfriendly.
Beer was big and cold and tasty.
Sauerbraten arrives (on a plastic plate). So its a brined roast beef with sides of Spatzle and stewed red cabbage. Not the most attractive plate and by itself, each component is rather bland. A bit of each on the fork together makes for a complete bite.
Would i recommend? For the one time visit just so you could say you've tried it, sure. To make this a go-to place, imho, not really.
