“Mall of America”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2009

Beautiful hotel, the staff was wonderful, they made you feel like family and breakfast was better than I expected. We were a short ride to the Mall of America, the shuttle driver was soooo funny and would also take us to Walmart & other malls. I will certainly stay there again.

We stayed here with another couple in a room with 2 queen beds. I initailly made the reservation, and was given a price of $149.99. I had 24 hrs to cancel because of the Republican National Convention.

The other couple called back two days later and got the same room for $99. I called and was able to cancel even though the 24 hrs passed.

When we got there there were no problems checking in or with the $99 price. We only really changed for supper and then left. When we came back for the night the a/c didn't work. We were on the 3rd floor, it was a 90 degree day, so it made for a hot night in the room.

Other than the a/c there aren't any other complaints. But the a/c is huge for me because I didn't sleep much because I was so hot. Had we stayed for more than one night I would have complained.

nice location if wanting to stay around minneapolis. easy to get to when getting off 169 to 494 and there it is!! but yah rooms were clean. got a 2 queen. no min fridge or microwave. bathrooms were clean as well. hotel did fufill my requests with a high floor rooms and extra pillows! staff was friendly. only bad things was that the temp in the room was too hott! the a/c did not work. also it was awesome that they had free brekfast but was expecting the sausage and eggs <jimmy dean sandwiches> but didnt have none. i am on a no carb diet and my only option was to eat a few boiled eggs!!! so i couldnt resist so ate one of those little cream cheese danish..yum

  • Liked — easy to find
  • Disliked — no eggs/sausage selection at brekfast

Stayed here because of the rate. $35 dollars less than if we stayed at a Fairfield a few miles farther down the road by the Mall of America. (We stayed over the weekend when their rates were lower) Hotel is convenient, right off interstate. Rooms clean and comfortable. Bed was great. We had a king size bed and it had 5(!) pillows that were also comfortable. A more than adequate breakfast was included.

Pool a bit small and usually filled with kids

Grocery store was close by which was great for getting snacks for the room or your trip.

Great place to stay for a good price. It has everything that most people look for, its clean, easy to find, close to entertainment, close to shopping and dining. The staff is great and will go the extra mile if needed.

We have stayed here several times with Oct. 2005 being the most recent. The couple of times we have been there we have had nothing but a very pleasant stay. My only gripe is that on each occasion I had trouble with the in room internet service.

Good place to stay if the price is right.

We had a great time when staying at the FairField Inn. The staff was VERY welcoming and did they're best to help us throughout our stay. The night receptionist, Jenny, was very kind and even called our room after we checked in to ask how the room was. The had a great continental breakfast with a wide selection of breakfast foods. The rooms are quite comfortable, but don't have microwaves or refrigerators. They have free local phone calls, which is always a plus! Room was spotless, and houskeeping was very friendly when we asked for extra pillows. The only flaw is the pool and hot tub. The indoor pool is SO cold we couldn't stay in it for more than 10 minutes. Plus, it's not big enough to really swim around. The kids could handle it, but they adults weren't crazy about the temperature. The hot tub was rather hard to sit down in, and was very, very hot. The fitness room was wonderful though! With new work out machines, and free bottled water for when you are done working out. They had a TV in the room with cable too, which was nice. There is a mexican restaurant across from the hotel. We wouldn't suggest it unless you really like very spicy, and very overpriced food. They have GREAT places to eat at the Mall of America though, which is only about 10 minutes away! We will return here on our next trip to Bloomington. Stay here if this is your first time to the area, the staff is really helpful with directions! Prices are VERY reasonable too!
