4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

This hotel has a good location. the first night they gave us a room with 2 beds. we ask front desk to change our second night room to a king and they did this cheerfully. the room was very spacious with a sitting area, fridge and microwave. everything was very clean.

stayed july 19-23. Room was ok, clean, maid service was good. Found the room to be a bit too small when sofa bed was open, hard to walk around. Overall the hotel was an ok stay, close to everything and lots of shopping around, though i would not stay here again. We happened to stay when there was a kids baseball team staying at the same time and due to this my 7 year old could not use the pool in the evenings after shopping as the unruly and unsupervised kids took over the very small pool, these kids were wild and at one point as i was trying to relax in the hot tub i was hit by one of their snorkling masks (not goggles). The parents were too busy chatting about baseball and drinking in the lobby and outside patio off the pool to supervise their kids and for their kids too have any regards for other smaller kids in the pool. The hotel had no supervisor in the pool area to keep these kids under control. They finally left on sunday, and when we came back from shopping at mall of america and my daughter wanted to use the pool they had it closed due to treatment, they couldnt do this after 10pm when the adult pool time is, which brings me back to the kids and parents not respecting that either. the kids used the floors and elevators as a running track and the elevator as a plaything, try to get an elevator when the kids where in there and all floors pressed. I have stayed at other hotels where kids sports team have stayed and have never experienced this, either security would be on these kids or the parents, what happened at this hotel i don't know and i don't care to know, all i know is i won't stay here again.

Room Tip: find out if a kids sports team will be staying there

First, the average: the hotel was similar to other Eden Prairie hotels I've visited in terms of quality and amenities. The room had some mechanical issues and general evidence of wear, but nothing terribly off-putting, with the exception of some strange odors that were probably the result of cleaning up after a previous guest. The rooms are a bit small for all the furniture in them.

Now, the excellent part - the staff. The front desk staff both in the evening when I arrived and the morning when I left were helpful, friendly and very positive people. Suburban hotels in places like Eden Prairie so often have lackluster front desk staff, but this one was great.

Room Tip: I found the rooms with two double beds to be cramped. A single king might be better.

We were with a large group (7 people distributed across 4 rooms), all the suites were similar: sitting area with sofabed and comfortable chair, desk & chair, kitchenette, ceiling fan, with the sleeping area (king bed or pair of beds), closet, and bath at the rear. One pair of rooms had a connecting door.

Everything about the stay was satisfactory: attractive decor, clean linens, good housekeeping, quiet rooms, generous selection of hot and cold choices for breakfast, which was included. Price was quite reasonable (the person who paid for the rooms was a regular Marriott customer, perhaps had a slightly better rate than someone just off the street, although I don'[t know that for sure). We were pleased that the desk clerk assigned rooms close together.

If I could give a VeryGood+, I would. The only real problem was that, although we arrived around 4 PM and check-in was 3 PM, only 2 of the rooms had been cleaned and were ready for us. We'd all been traveling from different locations and were tired and disappointed that we couldn't get in right away.

I would think this would be an especially good choice for families traveling with children, or for anyone who planned more than an overnight stay. For our brief overnight, we didn't need microwave or refrigerator, but they would be a real plus for a longer visit.

During the start of our check in process, someone that was staying at the hotel called the front desk. I don't have a problem with them answering it, but place them on hold and take care of me first. They didn't. The people on the other end were very demanding and the front desk clerk kept asking them to come down to the lobby and he would try to help them. This went on for over 10 minutes! After he hung up the phone, it was a very quick process. I like the 4th floor. There was less activity and overall pretty quiet. Rooms are clean and if you need to be on this side (SW) of the Cities, it is a nice location.

Room Tip: 4th floor, less traffic and a lot less comotion.

We have made it a tradition to stay at this location when in the Twin Cities. We've never been disappointed. Great location to malls and restaurants. The room are spacious, comfortable beds, nice clean bathrooms. The suites have microwaves/refrig which make it nice when traveling. The pool area is very well maintained, providing fun times for younger/teenage kids and the whirlpool is awesome. The hot continental breakfast is a bonus!

It was clean, quiet, and had plenty of space to spread out. The linens and towels were clean, fresh, and soft. The air conditioner worked wonderfully - and it was HOT!. It is a nice location. The front desk staff was extremely friendly.
