“Great if you want to see the sights of Duluth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We took the Vista Fleet Cruise in Duluth and were amazed at how many sights Duluth had to share on the trip. We took a 1 hr 45 min cruise during the day. We would have chosen the 45 minute one had it not been booked. Make sure YOU BOOK YOUR TICKETS EARLY. We waited until the night before and were the last group to get tickets. There was plenty of available seats after arriving 20 minutes early. If you want the top deck, arrive even earlier. If you are the kind of person that likes the air conditioning, you might disagree, but the front of the ship had entirely outside seating which is where we sat and received many good views because we could see all around. Our guide, Joe, was very informational and had a sense of humor. One thing, aside from booking the tickets early, that we will know for next time is that the 1hr 45 mins cruise was a little too long, and by the end the passengers seemed bored. The trip included seeing the Lift Bridge, the Shores of Lake Michigan, many landmarks and memorial monuments, and the industrial parts of Duluth. Oh by the way, eat before you get on, the selections were low. (Unless you are doing the dinner cruise) and I heard there were bathrooms but did not use them

“Vista Fleet Duluth”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Narrator just read the text with a low monotonic voice. Torturously dull and boring. Even the boat ride itself was slow and boring. Most passengers talked among themselves just to pass the time. As we departed one passenger commented and was told all the narrators were out sick and this guy was just filling in. Yikes! Give us a break. Also, found the boat very untidy with sticky floors. Don't know if it had a toilet. Didn't want to see it. The biggest disappointment in our 6 weeks of visiting Minnesota.

“Loved this tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

THIS IS the way to see the beauty of the Duluth harbor and learn of the city's history. We took the longer cruise during the day which was perfect. Enjoyed hearing about the lift bridge's history and then seeing it in action as we went underneath it. The guide had a great sense of humor as well. You could sit outside (on top) or be inside and see everything.

TIP: Check out Vista Fleet online for possible coupons for their cruises as well as other area attractions. Good way to save money.

“A must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

We did the shorter 45 min tour, which I thought would be long enough, but felt short to me. Our whole family had a blast on the boat. It was so much fun being out on the water, and of course the views are amazing. The tour guide was great at explaining all the different landmarks, but at times he was hard to hear over the water. I will definitely go on the longer tour next time. If you love the lake, or Duluth, this is a must.
