My parents took us to visit Lake Superior when I was a child. When my wife and I moved back to Minnesota with our daughter, the "big lake" became a vacation destination for us. Our children are now grown and they go there with their families. Comfort Suites of Canal Park is the treat we give ourselves when we visit Duluth. The kids and their kids camp, but we get a room with a view of the big lake. We reserve early enough so we get a balcony from which to watch the ships come and go. For us, this is one of the nicest places we stay. The rooms are spacious, the beds very comfortable with more pillows than we can use. There is a sitting area which leads to the balcony. The breakfast provided is tasty and nourishing with some nice touches. The rooms are always very clean, the staff is friendly and accomodating and we love it. We have been staying here for a number of years and we plan to go back again and again!
