My husband and I stayed here for three nights for our brief honeymoon. We were welcomed at the door by Jim and shown around their lovely home. We were the only guests and since my husband had to do some work during our stay, we chose the Superior Suite. It was beautiful with a view of Lake Superior and the sound of Oregon Creek babbling by. So relaxing! The scrumptious breakfasts were left at our door every morning after waking from the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We highly recommend The Firelight Inn. There are many b&b's in Duluth, but the location of this one near the creek is by far the best. We can't wait to visit again and experience the welcoming, friendly, warm hospitality of Jim and Joy. This is truly their calling and if you visit, I'm sure you will feel the same.

I've been meaning to write this since we left the Firelight Inn about 2 weeks ago, so I could remember everything, but kept forgetting. All in all, a wonderful experience. Jim and Joy were as hospitable as could be. To the beautiful and thoughtful homemade card welcoming us when we arrived at our room, to homemade cookies and treats in the kitchen daily, to the famous breakfasts we woke up to and were waiting for us outside our room! We stayed in the Superior Suite, which was darling and decorated in a lighthouse and Lake Superior theme. The bed was the most comfortable bed ever-- even inspiring me to get a similar pillowtop/featherbed. The jaccuzi was relaxing, the skylights were nice as was the window that opened out to view the creek and Lake Superior. I am definitely planning on coming back!

We had a delightful and relaxing stay with a cozy room and oh so comfortable bed. We enjoyed the personal touches of our first stay at a B&B.

My husband and I decided to celebrate Valentines a few weeks early so we started looking for places to stay. Having previously thought that we were not Bed and Breakfast people I was a bit nervous when my husband told me had booked us at The Firelight Inn. Upon our arrival I knew that it was a wonderful choice. This place is amazing with wonderful architecture and just the right touches in decor to make you feel pampered and comfortable.The owners Jim and Joy were there to greet us and show us every room in the house. We immediately felt welcome and that they were there to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in The Superior Suite and the price was well worth it. The fireplace and jacuzzi tub were the perfect thing for our Winter blah's. The bed was so comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was delivered in the morning in a large basket outside our door with plentiful and delicious fare. We also enjoyed a very relaxing massage before going out and exploring all there is to offer in the area. Jim and Joy are wonderful people who want to make your stay the best experience. They are so nice to chat with and it is plain to see that your comfort and happiness is their top priority. They have clearly put in the time and researched what people really want out of a Bed and Breakfast experience. Our stay here truly spoiled us and I know it will be difficult to visit anywhere else but I know that when we plan a weekend getaway to Duluth again we will definitely pick The Firelight Inn.
