Description: The Pickwick is Duluth's landmark restaurant situated on the shore of Lake Superior. Best known for its steaks and seafood from the only indoor charcoal grill in the area. There are also great burgers and sandwiches for under $12. The banquet room accommodates up to 50 people and offers privacy for business or family occasions. The bar has been restored to its 1940 layout offering an energetic atmosphere for all ages. Two happy hours - before dinner and late night - keep the bar hopping from 4am until close. The dining rooms bring back the history of the Pickwick which has been operating since 1914. Fine dining is at its best with our excellent serving staff along with the creations of Chef Jake Sutula. Reservations are accepted. Come see why the Pickwick has been Duluth's place to be for nearly a century!

“Great atmosphere......expensive menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Can't beat the view from the dining room, and the historic decor of the entire restaurant. I'm disappointed with the renovation of the bar from a few years ago, and I was surprised to see a new patio area with "happy hour." It's just not the same! My dinner was outstanding. I had the special on a Friday night - bone-in ribeye ($38), probably the best steak I've had at Pickwick's!! A few in our party had prime rib and were disappointed with the portion size and flavor. Still a very nice meal, but be prepared to pay for it. It's quite an expensive menu. We also stopped in a week later for lunch on our way back and had another great meal of burgers, salad's and other sandwiches. Great lunch, but again somewhat expensive!

“Nice visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We ate dinner here out on the patio, which has some view but not a lot and only if you sit at the tables closest to the lake (the view is obstructed by a few nearby buildings). We shared a trout dinner. We both thought this was quite good- great taste without being overly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were awesome as well as the fresh beans. We splurged and got the $8 red velvet dessert which also comes with 2 chocolate cookies. We both thought the cookies were better than the cake. The cake was dry and lacked flavor but the icing and sauce helped make up for that. It wasn't worth $8 though even with pretty generous portions. My only option to get Dt Coke was in a can and that ended up to be $2.25 so just make sure to ask about the price on anything you add on!

“Old fashioned steak house - thank heavens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

The Pickwick is a lovely old restaurant that remembers why people come there--not for faux cultural artifacts or huge menus, but rather excellent food, good service, reasonable prices and a comfortable setting.

“Nice historic building with a view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

My wife's sister and her husband took us to Pickwick for lunch. Something out of the ordinary to be sure. The restaurant is not tired, as "azis" said. It is historic! Great old architecture and furnishings. I had a burger and onion rings, both great. The view of lake Superior wasn't bad either.
