“Must Do on (Rare) Warm Days”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

If you come to Duluth you really must go to the park at the end of Park Point. Many sand volleyball courts, space for soccer, softball, flying kites, running, picnicing, grilling. But the gem is the lake and the wonderful 5 mile long fine sand beach. Beach comb, play in the "refreshing" waves, sunbath--just chill without any crowds to deal with. You can find plenty of place to stretch out. Make an afternoon of it. And if you like hiking, go to the very end of the road, walk past the small local airport and into the old growth forest--another few miles to the next canal used by lakers coming in and out of St. Louis Bay but without the crowds of Park Point. All free.

“WONDERFUL PARK”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Our first time here was for a Groom's Supper. It is about a seven minute drive after you cross the lift bridge. Lake Superior on the one side and the inner harbor on the other. Shaded picnic area, sand beach on lake side, view of Barker's Island, rest room facilities, large paved parking area, broad expanses of grass areas. A nice respite from the hustle and bustle of he Duluth scene.

“The Atlantic Coast of Duluth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Beautiful area!! I really felt as if I was on an isolated Atlantic Beach. The fog kept rolling in and out, but the sights were always beautiful. I want to come back and do the entire hike to the end of the point and back.

“Greaet Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Worth a stop if you are spending a few days in Duluth. Beach is great! Water is not always warm. :) Sometime in mid-late Summer it heats up.

“Duluth to shop? How about fresh air?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We take a break at Park Point... great for a picnic! Pick up some specials from Canal Park restaurants (see DEALS in Duluth website) and wait for the ships and kites to roll on by. Nice addition to a weekend away.
