“Fun place to spend an afternoon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

We have visited this zoo before and after the flooding. My memories of the pre-flood are great. My memories post flood are sad. We are Zoo travelers and have seen many zoos across the country. Comparing the Duluth Zoo to the others ranks it in the lower third of my rankings. But the good news is that this zoo has the most potential for growth. This zoo has a large area of acreage that can house more and new animals. It will also need more funding to increase it's animal population. Get behind your zoo area Duluthians. You can do it!!

“Well...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Pretty sad, though to be fair, I know that they suffered a lot of damage due to the flood. However, they didn't really seem to be working on much, and I wish they would have told us when we paid how many exhibits were closed. We did the whole thing in an hour, and I am a zoo fanatic, who usually spends the whole day at a zoo!

“Fall Fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We visited the zoo today with a 4 year old and toddler. The grounds are great for exploring and soaking in a beautiful, fall day in Duluth. While the breadth of animals doesn't compare to larger zoos, young kids don't really know the difference. They can explore and run with their friends in a beautiful setting without fear of crowds or getting lost. We were able to watch feedings and the employees and volunteers were very friendly. The playground is definitely a bonus - lots of opportunity to expend excess energy!

“Very sad, but a great zoo.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

My family and I visited the zoo after the flood and it was very sad to see the damage caused by the water. Some animals had perished but they are working hard to repair the damage, and we enjoyed the visit nonetheless.

“My Favorite Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

They had a lot of animals and ones I've never seen before. They were in smaller areas and all awake so you could see all of the and the the wolves and fox were even interacting with the kids when the would run by. So much better than the bigger zoos because their not hiding the animals from you and people walk around the park feeding the animals and tell you all about them too. It was really wonderful
