My boyfriend and I stayed one night in Duluth for September long weekend. We booked on Friday for Saturday night so there was not a lot of rooms left. We got a one bedroom king suite.
I was incredibly sick this week and not sure why we even traveled, but I'm glad we did.
We arrived at the hotel around 3:00pm and our room was ready. We had a choice of first or second floor and chose first so we could park the car near our room. Next time I would chose a higher floor due to the privacy. The front desk staff (Andy?) was very helpful and pleasant. Excellent asset to the hotel.
Our room was immaculately cleaned and had lots of natural light and nice furnishings. We were very impressed with everything the room had to offer - tons of dishes and cookware in the kitchen, up to date appliances - everything you would need.
There was a lovely sofa (pull out), a chair, and a great fireplace that really did give off a lot of heat. This would be great in the winter, but since it was burning hot this day, we put the air conditioning on as cold as it would go! It worked perfect - the rooms were cold right away There was a TV over the fireplace, which we did not use.
Off the main room was a room with a sink and mirror etc - then a separate bathroom with shower and toilet and then a separate bedroom.
Bedroom was large with a TV on a large set of drawers, a closet with mirrors and extra blankets, a very comfortable king size bed, and 2 night tables. There were (close to) black out drapes that were more than adequate.
There was a pool and hot tub in the hotel, which we did not use, but looked very inviting. Outside the pool in a courtyard there was a BBQ and many chairs and tables to use so you could cook outside. The other side of the courtyard was the lobby/breakfast area.
Breakfast was fantastic - there were English muffins, bread, bagels, many toppings for them. On this day they had biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, fresh waffles, fruit, yogurt, milk, juices, coffee etc. This is more of a selection than I'd have at home.
We checked out around 11:30 and this was not an issue - you have until 12:00pm which is great.
The only faults we could come up with is that the shower head wasn't good. It was too large and the pressure wasn't hard enough to rinse shampoo/conditioner from my hair.
This hotel is close to the mall, restaurants, and canal park - if you have a car. It would be far if you were walking. The location was perfect for us!
We would definitely stay here again and we cannot wait to return!
We had a ground floor room - which was convenient. But not so great when you forgot that you pulled...
