I stayed at this hotel for nearly two weeks and it was an excellent stay.

My studio suite was more than adequately large, with very nice furniture, good lighting and nice views of a forest out the back of the hotel (which I recommend as a location). The kitchen had a full-sized fridge, a good microwave and dishwasher and a small (2-burner) smooth-top stove. Pots, pans and drinking glasses were limited, but good enough to meet the needs of most travelers that plan to cook. The bathroom was very nice, though water flow in the showers was a bit weak. Lots of nice quality towels.

The only complaints that I have about the room were that a) the internet was painfully slow some of the time (OK other times) and b) the heating and cooling system blew right onto the bed and was hard to figure out.

There was a small pool and hot tub, as well as a nicely appointed exercise room, none of which I used, but others did. I even saw one guy doing laps in the pool, though it seemed much too small for that.

Three nights per week (Tue-Thu, I think), the hotel provides a light dinner and beverages. Nothing special, mind you, but a nice way to save a few bucks vs. going out and also taking a break from cooking.

Close by there is a Cub Foods (walking distance), and there are many restaurants and other stores (Target, Kohl's) within a short drive. Most restaurants are chains and the closest are Texas Roadhouse and Olive Garden.

Check-in, check-out and billing all went smoothly. This place is somewhat pricier than other hotels in the area, but based on the reviews of others, this Residence Inn is clearly the best in the area.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the hotel, facing the woods. For more quiet, ask to be away from the Elev...

Great room, great staff and one hundred times better run than the Duluth Sheraton (see my previous post). Couldn't have asked for a better stay and the staff is on happy pills! Needless to say, it's the only place I'll stay when in Duluth.

Outstanding location, rooms and service. Don't know how I missed this location when I visited here before. Rooms are large and have full service so a traveler can streach out and enjoy themselves after work. Facilities are well kept with everything needed for self cooked meals and comfort. Staff is great too.

Room Tip: They are all good as far as I could tell.

Pros:
*fairly new hotel, clean and modern
*rooms have great design and functionality
*breakfast buffet the a.m....although see the Con list.
*great location, near grocery stores, mall etc
*nice workout facility

Cons:
*loud traffic noise if your room faces Central Entrance
*breakfast buffet was really unorganized, dirty dishes everywhere, hot food was cold and not very tasty..although it was better on the 2nd day of our stay as I think the hotel wasn't as crowded.

Overall I think Residence Inn is a great hotel...I will certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the road.

Hi there petunia2030,

Thank you for taking time to review your recent stay here at the Residence Inn by Marriott-Duluth. First off, our apologies for the breakfast experience on the first morning of your stay. We have added additional breakfast staff to help keep things organized in the dining area. As a new hotel it is important for us to hear both positive and negative experiences to help make us a stronger hotel for our guests.

It's great that you were able to take advantage of the complimentary amenities that we have here for our guests during your stay. Maybe next time you visit it will be warm enough to try out our Sport Court! It's a fan favorite amongst our summer visitors.

We look forward to seeing you again soon--

We appreciate you,

We needed a large enough suite to allow our dog, two daughters and their mom and dad to enjoy a weekend visit. The Residence Inn exceeded all our expectations! Their service was superb, seemingly going out of their way for all guests. The 2-room suite was very comfortable and well appointed. We will certainly stay here again when we return to Duluth!

Hello TravelMack425!

Our two bedroom suite is notorious for being the PERFECT "we-have-a-large-family-but-only-want-one-room" room! Everyone has their own seperate space, but there is also a comfortable living space to spend some quality family time as well. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Residence Inn by Marriott-Duluth.

We look forward to seeing you again soon---

I stayed here by chance as I have status with a different chain property, but after my experience here am rethinking this. The hotel is excellent in every way.
Pros: New, Modern, clean, spacious, full breakfast but most of all - extremely friendly service at all times of day. Workout facility is excellent. Each machine has its own tv, so you are not subject to watching the one tv that the person who enters first has chosen to watch. The barbecue and firepit in the courtyard add a nice touch also.
Location is next to a grocery store, a couple of restaurants and the mall but not walking distance. Why stay at a hotel with a bed, desk and chair when you could stay in a room with a full kitchen, bedroom and a fireplace for about the same price?
The CON: The location has access noted above, but you need to DRIVE vs. if you are downtown you could basically walk. Not much of a view compared to downtown or canal park either.

The staff here has really done a great job of creating loyalty, my colleagues and I travel often to Duluth for business and most are quickly making this the favorite.
