Well I probably would not stay for a whole week but for a night or 2 I will go back. This place is Great. Very clean hotel (even when they allow pets) a little out dated decor, but that is why you are paying under $100.00. only noise I heard was when we first got there. People were talking some where by the window. Other than that I didn't hear the next room. Was so happy to have a hot shower in the morning and not having to worry if everyone else had used it all up.The staff is very helpful and nice. Location is perfect off the beaten path but not too far from anything in Duluth.Great acesss to 35 to get back to the cities. A Holiday Station near by so you can buy snacks or refreshments for the mini fridge. If you like a firm bed you'll be in love ( just it would have been a King since I liked it but not the hubby) so he tossed and turned and kept bumping me. I LOVED that I was there on Sunday morning since ONLY on this day for the contenential breakfast includes biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were wonderful not too dry or crumbly. Over all I am not going to check this motel off my list when I need a place to stay to see the fall leaves.

All rooms are exceptionally clean and non-smoking, with air conditioning, refrigerators, microwaves, in room coffee, cable TV and free WIFI. The Allyndale Motel sits at the intersection of North 66th Avenue, West and Westgate Boulevard / Highway 61, (called the "new" State Route No.1, In 1924). This section of the route was the primary highway between the Twin Ports and the Twin Cities, particularly St. Paul. It led one through a series of small towns along the Northern Pacific Railway line. By the 1970's this route had been replaced by Interstate 35. The historic original Allyndale Motel was built in 1952, on several acres of land within Duluth's city limits and named after the builder's two sons Allyn and Dale. Since then additional property has been acquired and family suites with full kitchens have been built at both ends of the original building. Two more buildings have been erected. The first building has three double rooms and a full kitchen family suite, the second has six rooms, five with kitchenettes. Outside, on the well maintained Allyndale Motel grounds, there are several seating and BBQ picnic areas, both charcoal and gas grills are provided. North of the property is state land where the Allyndale Trail connects to the Superior Hiking Trail that runs all the way up to Two Harbors. Bordering the property on the East is Keene's Creek, a stocked trout stream and on the West a smaller spring fed stream. You can see deer, rabbits, squirrels and other wildlife meandering and scampering on the grounds. Hope to see you soon! ... more less
