“Nice displays”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

The models were nice and most of the displays were interesting. I didn't feel like I was getting enough information about the shipping industry on the Great Lakes, but maybe I was just expecting something different. It is certainly worth a few minutes to wander through.

“FREE (and worth every penny of your tax dollar)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

A TV screen telling you when the big boats are coming in and out of the harbor.
Friendly personnel answering your questions.
A history lesson on shipwrecks and the Army Corps of Engineers.
A view of the aerial lift bridge.

And, did I mention it's free??

If you're going near Duluth, it's the best bang for your buck. (Okay, nerdy friends, I know you're going to come up with the div/0! argument... but you do have to pay to park nearby, so I guess it's not TOTALLY free).

“Great history and info”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

The visitor center has a whole bunch of info on all the ships in port and a lot of information about the activities in port and on the history of shipping in Duluth. Well worth a visit. Been there several times over the years.

“Best FREE thing to do in Duluth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

This place is huge, JAM PACKED with tons of information, a great educational tool to use when visiting Duluth, and totally FREE!!!! Two floors of awesomeness and history that my whole family enjoyed! It gave a lot of the history of Duluth, shipping, the great lakes, etc. There were MANY model ships to look at/read about, as well as sampled of rooms on the ships. It was neat to do this BEFORE viewing the ships come through the canal, because the kids were able to point out what kind of ship it was!

Spend some time in museum. It is great information about Lake Superior and Duluth's history, as well as the ships that use and have used the Lake. Well worth the visit.
