I am a trained commercial diver and a collector of old diving equipment, and I had read several years ago, that there was a set in this museum. Also, I just like maritime and nautical museums in general. I finally had the chance to visit this wonderful place while in Minnesota for a convention last summer. The museum is very clean with great displays of the local maritime history of Lake Superior. It is free to the general public. There are ship models, and everything is well labeled and educational for all ages. Even my two traveling pet rabbits enjoyed themselves. The particular model diving helmet on display was not a particularly rare model, but it was in above average condition for its age. Whoever set up the display; mistakenly put the weight belt on backwards....buckle should go in back of diver. There are also some great dining places and shopping right near the museum. I highly recommend! Two thumbs up!!
