“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

The Apostle Island area is beautiful. It does not have the same feel as the Mn side of Lake Superior. The water is much more tranquil than the Mn Superior side. The ferry is a bit expensive as they charge per/vehicle plus per/person.

“Quaint, Beautiful, Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Stayed a week, took our tandem Hobie Kayak to the sea caves and other lake superior spots, hiked, biked, and loved it. No chain stores, all local. Go there!!! Stayed at Seagull Bay, the cottage is the best.

“Spectacular and fun for all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

My favorite activities have involved kayaking. Sea caves are spectacular and paddling through them is fun. Fairly easy paddling can be had - but go with a recommended guide if you cannot get back into an upset kayak easily and be sure to wear a wetsuit. Winds can come up unexpectedly but distance to mainland caves is short from Cornucopia. For the more adventuresome, there is kayaking to the islands and overnight camping. Sometimes in Feb ice is safe enough to hike into the frozen caves - absolutely fascinating! Check with park service first for safety. Don't like kayaking - lots of opportunities for relaxing and scenic boat tours. Nearby Bayfield has lots of attractions, good places to eat and interesting art shops.

“Mom's Weekend didn't disappoint- Madeline Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We LOVED this place. Tom's Burned Down is a MUST for a fun, laid back evening on a deck. FISH Tacos at the Beach Club are a MUST for the day after- outside and by the water. BEN'S CABIN on Madeline Island is SO reasonable and comfortable and PRIVATE for the ladies that wanted to get crazy as well as those that wanted to go to bed early. Beautiful, Friendly, innexpensive, active place to visit.
