“Very neat place with Awesome brewhouse next door.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

This hotel has a very neat atmosphere! The price was a little high but the perks of having shopping, food & great beer in the same complex were awesome, especially in Winter! If you need to leave the free shuttle was very handy. Staff was awesome!
Rooms were very neat. The Cityside rooms with double beds are a good size but friends stayed in a Lakeview single bed room & it was small.
Eating continental breakfast looking over the lake in the Boardroom was a pretty neat way to start the day!

The staff were outstanding. Valet service was very nice, given the chilly weather and snow.

Front desk staff were helpful finding locally owned restaurants.

Breakfast in the hotel was good, overlooked the lake. We stayed inside (given the weather) but will go back.

Had a suite upstairs with LOTS of room, enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and extra space to read a book. Fireplace was nice and bed was very comfy. Will go back in the summer to enjoy the lakeview balcony.

Pleasantly surprised by how much of original details they kept in the building like the super high ceilings and detailed woodwork throughout. The breakfast room had a great view on the lake, although in Dec it is more dark and gloomy than one might want to look at first thing in the morning. The complimentary valet parking was much appreciated after my long work days.

Room was very clean and comfortable. I had 206 which had 2 beds facing the street with a separate elevated sitting room section with 10 foot window.

The area around the hotel looked very interesting with some bars and clubs. Definitely would love to come back for a visit with the family sometime.

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said by others. I travel for a living, all over the world. The Fitger's is truly one of my top 5 favorite hotels. The rooms are all unique and cozy and old. The staff is professional and calm. And, Lake Superior is in your backyard. You just don't find this combination of authentic, comfortable, and unique very often, so enjoy it when you do!

My wife and I made a last minute decision to run up to Duluth for an overnight. We booked a night at Fitger's Inn, and it was the best decision of the trip! The room was cozy and beautiful, with a king size bed and 'field stone' wall that really gave the place a rustic look. (The building is an old warehouse, refurbished).

The staff is incredible, ready to meet your every need with a smile and quick step.

The fact that there are many stores located in the building made it perfect to hang out without going out.

Room Tip: The lake-side rooms have a marvelous view of Lake Superior. Ours was on the city-side, and though th...

The staff at Fitgers are friendly and professional. The hotel is clean and beautifully decorated. We stayed in a lakeside room with a lovely view, walked by the lake, and visited the nearby shops. We used their shuttle service to go to dinner at a nearby restaurant. The young man, Aldon, who drove the shuttle was pleasant and informative. It was clear that he truly enjoys his job.
We would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: The lakeside room is a must!

The staff is excellent. Accommodations are wonderful. Very unique ambience. The old brewery has been converted into a nice hotel. Would stay there again in a heart beat. Many great attractions within easy walking distance.

Room Tip: It is expensive but well worth the money.
